Job Summary

HR / Payroll Administrator will be processing employees as they enter and exit the company.

Maintain employee files

Maintain employee certifications

Send time cards to payroll company for weekly processing

Create and send certified payroll reports

Manage union relations as it pertains to Hire/layoff, and weekly payroll

Responsibilities and Duties

Oversee employee time cards and submit to payroll company

Create wages based on contractual requirements

Place man power calls to unions

Manage union agreements

Process new hires

Process lay-offs / terminations

Communicate with labor attorney

Execute disciplinary actions

Complete monthly man hour reports

Manage downstream certified payroll

Maintain prospective employee records

Communication with operations to determine manpower needs

Create and submit Certified payroll reports

Distribute checks weekly

Manage employee records in HIRS and PM software

Maintain OSHA logs

Create forms as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Leadership qualities

Advanced knowledge of on-line systems, computer software programs and/or Internet including prior experience with an HRIS database.

Payroll experience required.

Indepth understanding of employment laws and regulations.

45 wpm data entry, 10 key, PC literate with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and prioritizing skills, attention to detail.

High level of confidentiality, detail oriented and follow through is a must.

Knowledgeable of administrative practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to employment, wage and hour, labor relations, etc

Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required

Self starter attitude

Able to deal tactfully with all types of personnel.

Drivers License & transportation. -required to distribute paychecks when needed.

2yrs experience with labor unions

2yrs experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage

Job Type: Full-time
