Xavier University is seeking applications for the position of HR/Compensation Analyst. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Total Rewards & HRIS and oversight by the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, this position will focus on two main functions of Human Resources. It will serve as the lead for data analysis, reporting, HRIS maintenance and improvement. This position will lead the daily administration of the Compensation function by ensuring University wide position alignment, adhering to applicable regulations, and providing industry related analysis.
Annual salary planning process,
Semi-annual structural and promotion process,
Job Position Evaluation/Reevaluation process, including external and internal benchmarking,
Salary Survey participation,
Data retrieval and analysis and “communication lead” for external audits,
Ad-hoc research and analyses for Compensation matters
Evaluates internal and external trends and practices,
Ensures alignment with government regulation such as FLSA, EEO, etc.
Provides Executive Compensation support to the Associate Director, Total Rewards and HRIS, and Associate VP for HR/CHRO.
Creates, runs, and analyzes monthly “audit” reports for benefits such as health care, retirement contributions, etc.
Creates ad-hoc reports for customers (eg, University Communications mailings, employee data for Athletics, Diversity & Inclusion reviews, employee Data report for HR Team).
Develop and document procedures to streamline processes.
Makes system/process suggestions for improvement and works with HR, Payroll, IT, and other stakeholders to test and implement changes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience
Firm knowledge of Compensation functions (job evaluation, salary survey bench-marking, etc.)
Experience with data analysis and reporting
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively among a team
Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Excel) and other technology systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in compensation and HRIS, prior experience in Banner is preferred
