Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Compensation at Alexion is a key member of the global total rewards team. This role will be responsible for analytical support of the Company's executive compensation and equity programs, and assist in the preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee. This role will also focus on the continuous improvement of the operational process components of the compensation function.

Principal Responsibilities

  • With guidance from Sr. Director of Executive Compensation and other internal partners, helps develop materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board, and acts as project manager to ensure appropriate internal review and timely submission of materials
  • Assist with strategy, design and executiion of executive compensation and strategic incentive plans
  • Develops analytical tools and models to support in all aspects of executive compensation area, including modeling impact of incentive plan design changes, analysis and forecasting of equity usage (run rates, dilution), external benchmarking of executive roles, etc
  • Participates in preparation of annual disclosures, including the CD&A and proxy tables by partnering with finance, legal, external consultants, etc to compile information
  • Provide support on executive job offers, job levelling, reorganizations and other related activities
  • Help support the development/documentation related to management of equity programs and other global compensation programs/processes (e.g. global benchmarking tools/templates)
  • As needed, provide support to stock admin on key processes including audit and vesting processes
  • Help deliver compensation training and communication as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Alexion processes touching compensation

  • 4 years experience in a dynamic business environment preferably in a Compensation (or comparable analytics-based) function
  • Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Global experience preferred, but not required

  • Bachelor's degree required (Business, Finance, Math, HR or related major is preferred)

Major skills:
  • Strong analytical, technical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail where quality is of a second nature and primary importance
  • Effective pacing, prioritization and sequencing of work
  • Ability to perceive, understand, judge and come to a reasonable and logical conclusion in order to have the best outcome in any situation
  • Ability to easily work with others & collaborate on projects and initiatives
