Join the team! This position is located in the Office of Human Resources (EXRM). EXRM formulates the overall agency human capital policies, procedures, and practices. As a member of of the EXRM team, you will support specific internal organizations in a functional area of human resources. This position is located in Bethesda, MD and is perfect for an experienced human resources specialist who is looking to expand their breadth of experience in a mission focused organization. As a specialist in the Office of Human Resources Management, you need to be a self-starter, resourceful, and capable of working independently. This appointment requires completion of a one year probationary period unless you have previously successfully completed a probationary period that meets the following: 1) in the same agency, 2) in the same line of work (determined by the employee’s actual duties and responsibilities) and 3) contains or is followed by no more than a single break in service that does not exceed 30 calendar days. Failure to successfully complete the probationary period may result in termination of employment.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service (time-in-grade). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirements of the position within thirty (30) days of the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifying specialized experience must include:
GS-13: Interpreting Federal human resources policies and determining their effect on the agency personnel security/suitability program; resolving complex human resources issues and providing guidance to management on disciplinary, adverse, and performance-based actions; or administering and implementing agency level employee and labor relations programs.
The specialized experience must be fully described in the duties section of your resume in order to receive credit.
There is no substitution for specialized experience for this position.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
