Financial institution in Glendale is seeking an experienced hands-on HR Manager to manage the firm's human resource functions and to administer the firm's policies, procedures and programs. The ideal candidate would have a passion for enhancing HR processes and would be able to take ownership of the following vitally important functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This position requires a high level of integrity and a proactive approach while demonstrating a deep understanding of HR practices and business operations. The HR Manager partners with the VP of Finance and works frequently with the CEO, CFO, and other senior management to facilitate company growth and impact business strategies. Job Responsibilities: • Implement and administer company policy guidelines and documentation • Advise and respond to any questions regarding HR programs, practices, and procedures • Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding employee relations issues • Perform internal investigations, when necessary, on HR related matters • Provide consultation management in the resolution of staff complaints, performance coaching and counseling • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including diligently enforcing policies in a manner consistent with current employment and labor laws • Perform benefits administration • Administer and monitor the performance evaluation program • Manage recruiting and staffing logistics, including evaluating staffing needs, drafting job descriptions, and screening and interviewing candidates • Prepare and conduct employee orientation, development, and training; as well as assist with terminations and exit interviews • Maintain and update current personnel files • Assist with organizational and space planning • Attend and participate in company audits Skills/Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 5 – 8 years of progressive experience within HR • 2 – 3 years of recruiting experience with strong knowledge of hiring processes • Deep understanding of HR compliance and current regulations; working knowledge of federal/state/local employment and labor laws • Sound understanding of principles and best practices of personnel administration • Hands-on experience with benefits administration • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varied projects, deadlines and priorities; strong organizational and project management skills • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers and employees • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion, with ability to maintain confidentiality • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to present information and make recommendations effectively in oral and written form; comfortable with data analysis and numbers • Experience with regulatory audits on employment related matters preferred • Must be PC literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
