Job Description Summary

Perform complicated analyses and manage projects, administer executive compensation programs, and provide services and support for Executive Compensation Team.

Essential Job Functions

Administer the holding company and other non-qualified deferred compensation plans including ensuring that participants are reported, enrolled and paid according to plan elections and plan documents and in a timely fashion. Company liaison to the third party vendors on all administration, compliance, and system issues including annual open enrollment.

Responsible for tracking all short-term and long-term incentive plan targets, participants, and awards to ensure proper accruals, calculations and communications. Works with finance and tax to report information for accounting adjustments as necessary.

Creates materials for Bank of the West and BancWest Corporation Compensation Committee standard reports and special reports.

Maintains executive program participation data on the HR database system. Ensures that all executive perquisites are paid promptly by payroll and all imputed income for executive perquisites are accounted in the final W-2 pay including verification of data from employees.

Answers questions from executives regarding programs and greets new executives to the Bank or those newly promoted and advises them of their participation in executive compensation and benefit programs.

Liaison with third party vendor regarding all information on BOLI/COLI participants including the annual social security check for participants.

Analyze periodic trust statements and plan liability statements for all plans to balance with payments and liabilities.

Required Experience

Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.

May have broad knowledge of project management.

Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

H.S. Diploma

Licenses & Certifications

Skills

Experience with and knowledge of qualified and non-qualified benefit programs.

Basic understanding of the tax code and regulatory reporting as it relates to compensation and benefits.

Ability to analyze data and synthesize trend summaries.

Knowledge of disclosure reporting both for annual report and for FDIC.

Basic understanding of ERISA, HIPPA, 409A, 162M.
