Arvin Sango, Inc.,\u00a0 a Madison, IN manufacturer of exhaust systems\u00a0and other original equipment parts,\u00a0has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Specialist Madison IN Plant \u2022 2nd Shift (4pm-1am) This position provides administrative and technical assistance to Human Resource Manager. Demonstrates familiarity with all Human Resource related policies and procedures, giving advice and taking action when necessary. Prepares documents and directly handles highly confidential information. Provides leadership and guidance to production supervision relative to Human Resource issues. Primary responsibilities include: Assists in the hourly hiring process including applicant tracking for EEO compliance; interview scheduling; prescreens applicants for hourly positions; participates in interviews as necessary; and ensure all proper paperwork is complete prior to actual hire. Assists members with problems connected with paycheck issues, health insurance claims, and disability checks. Takes the lead in managing the HRIS and timekeeping system and ensuring other HR personnel are knowledgeable regarding the system. \u2022 Ensures effective member relations on a daily basis, provides support to supervisors and team leaders in handling member concerns, and assists in the resolution of member concerns through problem resolution. \u2022 Counsels, records, and applies appropriate discipline as necessary. \u2022 Processes and checks all paperwork pertaining to member transfers change in job classification, and pay\u00a0increases. \u2022 Answers routines inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefits claim\u00a0processing, and job openings in line with company policy on these matters. \u2022 Requisitions non-exempt personnel from temporary agency as needed. Greets temporary personnel,\u00a0provides them with proper protective equipment and contacts assigned manager. \u2022 Assists in human resource department new hire orientation on company policies and programs, signs up\u00a0new members for various benefits. \u2022 Assists the HR Manager in administering wage and salary policies; notifies supervisors of scheduled\u00a0performance reviews. \u2022 Assists HR Manager in enrollment of new members into medical and dental programs, life and disability\u00a0insurance, and notifies payroll of deduction changes. \u2022 Performs other duties within the Human Resource department as required, including composing and typing correspondence regarding HR reports and procedures. \u2022 Maintains member personnel files in line with company policy Qualifications: Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work. Tactful, above average interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with both members and managers. Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and members. Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Access); working knowledge of HR\/time keeping software. Ability to perform independently, accurately, and effectively in a high-traffic environment Associate degree in Human Resources or a related field a plus.
