Summary of Duties
The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Office of Human Resources at Washington State University Vancouver. Acting as the first point of contact for employees and visitors to the Office of Human Resources, the HR Assistant creates a professional and responsive service experience that is reflective of the
Vancouver Vision. The HR Assistant will provide administrative support in the areas of
maintenance, employee relations support, recruitment and selection, onboarding/orientation, records management, employee benefits, event planning, HR administration, and will maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times. The Human Resource Assistant has frequent contacts with staff, students, faculty, administrators, and members of the public and helps to maintain a campus climate that provides a safe, affirming and welcoming environment for all. This is a full time benefits eligible position.

Position Term in Months
$2,638.00 per month
Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated experience providing customer service both in person and/or over the phone.
Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks at one time, with frequent interruptions.
Excellent attention to details skills.
Experience in human resource functions such as benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, employee/labor relations and training/development.
Experience providing clerical – administrative support to multiple individuals.
Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.
Higher Education and/or public sector experience.
