**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Corp. has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Business Partner at our office in Grand Rapids, MI. This position will be a key member of our HR team, reporting to a Sr. HR Manager, and engaged in multiple aspects within the Human Resources department. This position will anticipate and assess HR related needs formulating partnerships across the business functions to deliver value-added service to our management and employees. The HR Business Partner is responsible for partnering with management in one or more functional areas, providing a broad range of human resources services including but not limited to: facilitation of recruiting and selection, employee relations for employees at all levels, handling claims/complaints, assuring federal, state, and local regulatory compliance, facilitating performance management and employee development, succession planning, and change management.
Additional responsibilities include:
Supports managers through employee relations issues.
Supports and coaches business partner managers with progressive discipline, harassment, workplace violence and other HR related issues.
Conducts exit interviews, evaluates turnover and develops retention programs.
Partners with recruiting resources and hiring managers to assess position requirements and screen internal/external candidates. Provides direct recruiting support as assigned.
Provides coaching and training on the development and execution of performance assessments.
Supports and facilitates functional succession planning and ensures the integration of succession planning into performance management and staffing decisions.
Maintains HR plans and participates in the development and facilitation of career planning/capability development.
Leads HR projects as assigned to implement and/or improve existing processes in support of the organization’s strategy to ensure a continuous improvement.
Projects include but not be limited to policy and procedure updates, organizational redesign, creation and development of streamlined processes, etc.
Participates in regularly scheduled management team meetings and provides updates at each meeting on HR related topics.
Works with management team to develop, execute and leverage leadership messages that drive business strategy.
Facilitates management teams and work groups through any necessary processes, i.e., goal setting, brainstorming, process improvement, etc.
Responsible for understanding and complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, mitigating potential infractions, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Improving manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solution, and coaching and counseling managers/employees.
Managing business partner expectations by communicating project status and issues, resolving concerns, analyzing time and cost issues, and preparing reports.
Enhancing department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day administration, communication, and implementation of HR policies and programs at the department level. Resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts complex investigations and recommends corrective actions. Advises management regarding basic EEO, federal and state employment laws and compliance issues. Coordinates and facilitates staffing of the organization to ensure its efficient operation. May assist in developing HR policy.
Performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Manages complex, unusual problems independently. Identifies and resolves basic problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with complex situations.
Typically a BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organizations business practices and issues. Typically, 5-7 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to effectivity and efficiently execute with business partners. Required to work a flexible work schedule, including occasional nights and weekends. Required Skills: Performance Management, Training Management, People Skills, Resolving Conflict, Employment Law, Project Management, Office Experience - General, Reporting Skills, Verbal Communication, and Administrative Writing Skills. Computer Skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prior experience with an Applicant Tracking System and HRIS system is required
