As the Campus Recruiter for Canada, you will manage both the graduate and intern recruitment strategy and program execution. You be part of a global team that supports a portfolio of business partners across various functions and classes of business through understanding the business context and talent strategy to secure top talent for Shell’s Graduate Programme (SGP). In addition to leading the recruitment of interns and graduates, you will also support with further developing our campus partnership strategy across Canada, assembling and leading a campus ambassador team and strategy, and supporting with post-secondary student development program activities.
This team member can be based in Calgary, AB where Shell’s corporate office is located for Canada or Edmonton, AB near our Refinery and Chemicals Park which is located in Fort Saskatchewan. This is an 18-month contract role with the possibility to turn into a permanent opportunity. There is flexibility to work remotely or on a hybrid schedule within this role. Travel to career events across the country will be required throughout the year.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Develop trusted relationships and engage with business partners (hiring managers, talent advisors, and other HR teams) to understand business strategy and priorities, roles, and talent needs both short and longer term
Lead professional Job Brief Meetings with hiring managers to fully inform on resourcing strategy and ensure DE&I priorities are established
Partner with the sourcing and marketing teams to determine the right sourcing method and marketing activities
Manage the successful recruitment (quality, speed, cost and diversity of end-to-end pipeline) of approximately 15-20 graduate target positions per annum, in addition to leading the strategy and recruitment for the assessed internship program
Act as the key engagement point for potential candidates through ensuring an excellent experience throughout the recruitment process
Lead the offer making process to secure smooth, timely selection and appointment of candidates
Build a continuous, collaborative delivery partnership with key Resourcing teams such as global sourcing, resourcing operations, talent operations and marketing
Ensure clarity and alignment across stakeholders to enable coordinated and effective posting, screening, assessment and offer management processes
Attend networking events and build a pipeline of candidates
Ensure data quality and timely, accurate tracking and recording of information in recruiting systems such as Workday
Champion your role as a Shell Ambassador in the external market, engaging with relevant networks and associations, as relevant to the portfolio of roles
Identify opportunities to improve the ongoing delivery & operational effectiveness of Resourcing through suggesting and leading continuous improvement initiatives or assessment/onboarding process updates
What we need from you?
You must be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Shell
University degree in a related field is required
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, some or all of which is relating to campus, graduate, or intern recruitment initiatives
Commitment and appetite for continuous improvement and operational excellence
Strong business partnering skills are essential in the engagement with various stakeholders across the business through a proactive and engaging approach
