As a Non-Technical Learning Advisor, your mission is to support asset performance through helping individuals learn faster, continuously re-skill and up-skill, and be able to deliver their work safely and sustainably under site, local and federal regulatory requirements. To do so you will actively manage the Learning Management System and leverage the available Shell global learning solutions and signal to the portfolio teams in Learning Solutions when additional learning is required.
What is the role?
You’ll Be Part of The Learning Solutions Asset Delivery Team for Operated-GoM (Primary Focus Gulf of Mexico):
To protect value at the Asset by ensuring that Compliance and Competence Assurance (CCA) content and strategic processes run to expectations, as agreed with local business stakeholders who will oversee day to day management of CCA.
To create value at the Asset by understanding the local business needs and leveraging the global learning solutions portfolios to deliver learning locally. This will include formal and informal Learning and Knowledge Management solutions to support learning in the flow of work.
As a Learning Advisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Ensure full understanding of the national, local and site regulations and standards affecting your population. Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (BSEE) impacting license to operate within the Gulf of Mexico.
Management and full oversight of the Learning Management supporting learning delivery for Gulf of Mexico. Serve as subject matter expert of Workday Learning Management System and reporting.
Financial Focal Point to liaison with the Learning Solutions Operated-GoM Manager to report out, diagnose and escalate concerns and scorecard financials both local to our asset and globally for Learning Solutions Asset Delivery Team.
Requirements
What we need from you
You must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
You must have minimum of (5) five years of experience in Oil and Gas industry or any work related.
Bachelor’s Degree preferably.
Extensive relevant experience as a Learning professional where you can apply your skills to building capability in the subject area. The ability to ‘cross boundaries’ and build up business knowledge or vice versa learning knowledge credibly and with speed will be critical.
You will have professional learning skills such as strong ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders to diagnose the business need and translate to excellent course portfolio delivery management to optimize the most value-added learning solution roadmap for our customers; project management skills; strong data analysis skills and evidence led approach to continuous improvement of learning provision. Workday Learning Management System experience is a must.
To deliver against the mission of Learning Solutions ways-of-working are crucial. You will bring an outcome focus and ‘from the business back’ mindset to the role. You are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and have a passion for integrating and collaborating across organizational boundaries. You challenge the status quo and drive for simplification.

You are able and willing to work at the physical location of our asset for at least 90% of the total working time each week. Please note this requires working from Robert Training Center in Robert, Louisiana.
