PRIMARY FUNCTION
As an HR Business Partner at Target, you will operate as a strategic advisor focused on talent management to build the best team. You will facilitate the assessment and integration of talent for Target and the businesses you support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategizes with the business by operating as a business analyst armed with retail and HR expertise who can translate pyramid objectives into talent implications
Leads, influences, supports, and facilitates organizational change and communication
Consults with the business by understanding how to align and integrate people with business needs through organization design and talent development
Advises, influences, facilitates, and supports decision making with team members and leaders
Acts as a coach and trusted partner and a confidant who understands when and how to share information in the best interests of people and the business
Assesses and develops talent
Leads as a brand ambassador who understands and upholds leadership competencies and expectations
Determines and plans workforce needs to identify and mobilize the right talent to meet business needs
Establishes and maintains close partnerships with HR Partners by understanding and representing unique business objectives
Collaborates with HR partners to lead the communication and implementation of HR cyclical processes including Talent Planning, Annual Merit, Performance Review Process and Best Team Survey
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position generally reports to the Group Manager, Human Resources, for the pyramid supported
Other working relationships include Pyramid VP, Directors, KMG leaders, LMG managers
All HR Process and Systems teams
Employee and Labor Relations teams
Organizational Effectiveness team
Pay & Benefits team
Talent Acquisition team

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree
2 - 4 years of human resources experience
Prior experience leading people
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to consult with the business through strong business acumen and presence
Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
Strong self concept and ability to manage conflict well
Resilient and adaptable to change
Ability to relate well with all levels in the organization
Demonstrated skills and abilities in one or more of the following: employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational strategy, or training & development
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
• Prior HR Generalist experience
• Prior operations or line experience
• Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field
