Critical Mass is hiring an Associate Director, Human Resources Manager to join our Talent team. This person will lead and support the development our employees on our accounts in the west market.
The Associate Director, Human Resources Manager is a strategic partner that works closely with the global Talent team to ensure that the needs of all employees of Critical Mass are being represented. The individual in this role will work on a variety of stages in the employee life cycle such as performance management, coaching, career development, and strategic HR initiatives. The successful candidate will not only have experience in dealing with Human Resources issues and concerns but will also have experience leading and supporting cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders in remote locations.
It is strongly preferred that the Associate Director, Human Resources Manager be based in Los Angeles with the ability to travel as necessary to our client site when needed. This role reports to the VP, Human Resources.
You Will:
Strategic Partner
Collaborate closely with account leadership; collate and analyze qualitative data to create talent plan for your market
Work with the global Talent team to identify opportunities to enhance employee development strategies
Support overall organizational staff planning and strategy, working closely with the HR Leadership, resource management, and discipline leads
Partner with the global HR team to identify top talent and devise development, retention, and engagement strategies
Provide on-going support and coaching to career developers while looking for opportunities to enhance current Critical Mass’ programs and policies
Identify, brainstorm, and lead global projects and process enhancements across the organization
Performance Management
Together with the Global Human Resources team, support the timeliness of performance reviews
Facilitate Talent Mapping sessions with account leaders to provide a more transparent, proactive career path to our employees
Serve as a strategic partner to employees and leaders with respect to managing internal conflicts, advising on development opportunities, and resolving complex employee relations issues. Partner with HR and Office leadership where appropriate
Manage the US Human Resources team; support their development, growth, and successful delivery of Human Resources programs and initiatives
HR Operations
Lead the review of Critical Mass’s policies and procedures on a regular basis to identify opportunities for enhancements to ensure we are meeting the needs of our employees
Educate employees on appropriate interpretation of policies and procedures as well as communicate any updates or changes
Lead and coordinate efforts with the HR team to ensure appropriate new-hire information is obtained and employee changes, promotions and increases are executed and communicated
Be informed of industry events and news, networking opportunities, employment regulations/laws
Oversee employee payroll and benefit programs, and proactive resolution of any issues related to these programs
Partner with HR Leadership to establish a communication schedule for employees to handle weekly and monthly meetings, distribute information from the Leadership Team and address ongoing individual, group, department and office issues using internal messaging channels (e.g. such as Slack)
You Have:
Experience in a software, agency, or interactive web development environment with at least 3 - 5 years of senior human resources leadership experience
Demonstrated ability building trust and confidence at multiple levels in an organization
Demonstrated ability driving pragmatic decision-making in a collaborative, fast-paced, team-based environment
Proven experience leading, delegating, motivating, mentoring, and building teams
Proven experience dealing with conflict, challenging situations, and a wide variety of working styles
Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods, and techniques
Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure operational activities
Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, and presentation
