Position Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner to be part of our innovative and growing HR Team. The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with experience in the biotech industry who brings their passion for HR and California expertise. We are looking for a candidate with strong HR functional and operational expertise who will develop and implement critical HR strategies and initiatives that align and advance the business. To be successful in this role, a candidate must be a HR expertise team player, strategic and operational, and someone who is accountable and delivers high-quality, innovative solutions that best meet our business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Kriya’s HR Business Partner will serve as primary contact for all California based employees regarding HR programs, policies, and initiatives.  The HRBP will be part of the larger HR team and be a lead for various HR initiatives. 
  • Work closely with leadership to provide coaching, guidance, and strategic value-added programs in support of organizational and functional area priorities.
  • Partner on company-wide HR initiatives and programs, including annual performance management, compensation planning, recruiting, onboarding process, culture & engagement, leadership & development, etc.
  • Responsible for employee relations activities, conflict management, performance improvement plans, complaint investigation and resolution, employee separations, etc. Escalating issues as appropriate to ensure appropriate stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Ensure onsite compliance with applicable Federal & State regulations, wage & hour requirements, Federal & State leave policies, etc. with expertise in California requirements.
  • Keep current and identify trends and new approaches in HR to support retention and recruitment efforts as a dynamic, forward-thinking employer.
  • Contribute to the evaluation, development, and implementation of processes and programs within HR and Kriya
  • Other duties as necessary

What we are looking for:

  • Strong functional area, and operational, foundation in core Human Resources areas of knowledge, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Goal Setting & Performance Management, Leadership & Development, Employee Relations, and Culture & Engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and leverage internal and external partners to deploy resources and programs that positively impact the business.
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues at all levels, including senior executive team members and their direct reports.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team.
  • Comfortable operating withing in a fast-paced, start-up company environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • SHRM CP / SCP or HRCI PHR / SPHR certification a plus
  • At least 8 years relevant experience in Human Resources with demonstratable experience in partnering with senior leaders as a strategic partner and/or driving HR initiatives and programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local employment/labor relations law.
  • Experience within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, strongly preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft based Office productivity suite, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..

Working Conditions:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment

Limited travel
