Job Description:
Do you want to shape the future of learning in Shell, work in a highly collaborative, fast moving environment where you can see the impact of your work and have lots of opportunity for personal development? Are you curious and comfortable to get involved in a wide range of learning solutions which improve performance, build skills, and provide a great human experience? If so, this is the place for you!
Learning Solutions aims to be the single provider of the best possible knowledge, content, and learning across Shell. It is a newly created organisation designed to manage the global portfolio of learning content, diagnose, and translate business needs into world-class learning solutions, and to deliver those solutions proximate to the business where needed.
Where you fit in?
Your mission is to support asset performance through helping individuals learn faster, continuously re-skill and up-skill, and be able to deliver their work safely and sustainably. To do so you will actively leverage the available Shell global learning solutions and signal to the portfolio teams in Learning Solutions when additional learning is required.
What’s the role?
You’ll be part of the Learning Solutions Asset Delivery team for our east coast based QGC assets whose purpose is twofold:
To protect value at the Asset by ensuring that Compliance and Competence Assurance (CCA) content and strategic processes run to expectations, as agreed with local business stakeholders who will oversee day to day management of CCA.
To create value at the Asset by understanding the local business needs and leveraging the global learning solutions portfolios to deliver learning locally. This will include formal and informal Learning and Knowledge Management solutions to support learning in the flow of work.
Accountabilities:
Interface with the QGC Learning Supervisor, Learning Solutions Manager asset learning teams and business leaders/SMEs for new content requests.
Lead or support the development or curation of a learning solution.
Work with advisor colleagues across Australia and Shell globally to ensure consistency and replication of solutions.
Source learning content internally or externally.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and facilitators for content delivery.
Ensure understanding of the national, local and site regulations and standards affecting your population.
In partnership with business stakeholders, you will perform diagnostics and gap assessments of the training and skill needs for the assets.
Work with the central design and development team to create high impact learning content to meet asset needs.
Support the delivery of digital learning platforms, including Workday Learning, digital assessments, and technologies as well as the sharing of useful and insightful data to the business on technical learning competency.
What we need from you?
You will bring relevant experience to the table, either as a technical professional where your network and knowledge can add value; or as a Learning or HR professional where you can apply your skills to building capability in the subject area. The ability to ‘cross boundaries’ and build up business knowledge or vice versa learning knowledge credibly and with speed will be critical.
You will have or quickly develop professional learning skills such as familiarity with instructional design theories, practice, and methods; ability to storyboard and communicate vision to customers; project management; ability to create and curate digital material/media; optimal use of learning technologies; strong data analysis skills and evidence led approach to continuous improvement of learning provision.
To deliver against the mission of Learning Solutions ways-of-working are crucial. You will bring an outcome focus and ‘from the business back’ mindset to the role. You are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and have a passion for integrating and collaborating across organisational boundaries. You challenge the status quo and drive for simplification.
You bring a Learner Mindset, a curiosity to learn and grow, learn from mistakes, successes and speak up openly in a safe environment.
You have an innate ability to analyse, interpret and present data in a meaningful way that delivers valuable and useful insights to the business.
You have the ability to form solid working relationships with key business stakeholders.
You communicate effectively and enjoy delivering and facilitating learning content as required by the business.
An innovative place to work
Your interest in working for Shell Australia is the first step towards a great career that focuses on securing an energy future for generations to come. Shell Australia can offer you a platform from which you can propel your career and work on diverse projects such as the game-changing Prelude FLNG, the industry-leading QGC Coal Seam Gas business in Queensland, the Gangarri Solar Project or our growing interests in Power and Retail Energy. Shell has been in Australia since 1901, with a record of investing in large projects, including the Clyde Refinery in Western Sydney, the Geelong Refinery in regional Victoria, and the North West Shelf project in Western Australia. In 2019 we acquired ERM Power Limited, as well as Sonnen, a leader in smart energy storage systems and innovative energy services for households.
Join us and you’ll add your talent and imagination to a business with the power to shape the future – whether by investing in renewables, exploring new ways to store energy, or developing technology that helps the world to use energy more efficiently.
An inclusive place to work
To power progress together, we need to attract and develop the brightest minds and make sure every voice is heard. Here are just some of the ways we’re nurturing an inclusive environment – one where you can express your ideas, extend your skills, and reach your potential…
We’re closing the gender gap – whether that’s through action on equal pay or by enabling more women to reach senior roles in engineering and technology.
We’re striving to be a pioneer of an inclusive and diverse workplace, promoting equality for employees regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
We consider ourselves a flexible employer and want to support you finding the right balance. We encourage you to discuss this with us in your application.
Shell Australia is a leading natural gas producer, and we are playing our part in the transition to a low-carbon future by also investing in the power sector, renewable energy sources and carbon abatement activities. A Shell career offers opportunities to work on innovative projects such as the Prelude floating LNG facility offshore of Western Australia and the QGC onshore gas business in Queensland. Beyond these are a wide range of Shell’s New Energies development opportunities. Join Shell and let’s power progress together with more and cleaner energy solutions.
As an equal opportunity employer, we support flexible working. Please outline any specifics in your application.
