SUMMARY: Assists in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned
projects related to the following:
education, job shadowing and interns, recruitment, benefits, HR systems
and operations and other initiatives in order to create a work community
of choice at Mercy.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
Assists in problem solving with employees and
managers.Communicates HR programs and changes to employees
and managers.Supports the
HR Business Partner Model in delivering quality, timely and valuable
information to managers and employees.Serves as a
resource for employees and management.Continually searches for ways to improve
performance in HR.Prepares or
assists in preparing reports and/or analyzing information as needed.
May focus in one or more of the following
areas: education, job shadowing and
interns, recruitment, benefits, HR systems and/or operations.
Education:
Ensures
accurate and timely information is entered and maintained in the CHI LEARN
system. Helps to
establish goals and initiatives as a part of the CHI Education/LEARN Committee.Ensures a
professional and streamlined LEARN product is offered to all employees. Collaborates
with different groups to develop appropriate education.Maintains a
current knowledge base of trends, policies, regulatory standards in health care
and education.Utilizes
analytical and creative thinking skills to study trends in health care and
education and integrates new concepts and techniques in assigned projects.Assists the
HR Operations Coordinator and other management groups to identify needs to
achieve goals and adherence to policies and standards set forth by state,
federal and regulatory agencies (JCAHO, OSHA, EEO, etc.).Ensures
employee compliance in educational programs and benefits. Administers
Masters and Doctoral Program as well as Mercy Scholars Program.
Job Shadows and
Internships:
Coordinates job shadow and intern
experience. Ensures job shadow participants and interns have
completed all required paperwork as needed for compliance. Tracks job shadow participants and internships.
Recruitment:
Creates requisitions in Workday and posts
positions in Taleo.Posts positions on websites.Assists with social media.Facilitates with new hire on-boarding process.
Benefits:
Acts as a liaison between employees and vendors
when problems arise and problem solves as required. Facilitates high-touch employee interactions
with Service Center such as pension, deaths, or problematic benefit issues.Audits benefit reports and provides feedback to
CHI or regulatory agencies as required.Participates in benefit transitions with
guidance from CHI and Management Team.Collaborates with HR Operations Coordinator to
develop appropriate benefits materials and communications for HR Business
Partners, managers, and employees. Develops communications for publication in the
Mercy Bulletin or Mercy announcements. Monitors employees in Leaves of Absence
situations to ensure appropriate transition back to work, to long term
disability or end of employment.Initiates collection procedures if employees
fail to meet education commitments to Mercy and/or payroll corrections.
HR Systems and
Operations:
Coordinates non-employee tracking, including
travelers, PEPPS and other contractors.Identifies issues and trends as they arise and
reports them to HR Operations Coordinator.Ensures smooth process flow for HR Operations
and other HR initiatives as needed.Coordinates different projects or initiatives as
needed such as Adventureland Ticket sales.Scans employee information and QA’s scanned
documents as required.
MARGINAL
FUNCTIONS:
Serves as an
active member of assigned committees and task force groups.Assists in variety of HR projects.
','!*!MINIMUM
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
High school
diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business
or related field preferred.Two years Human Resources experience in
compensation, benefits, recruitment, education or employee relations may be
substituted for degree. Computer experience required.
