Job Description:

The HR Policy Advisor is responsible for delivering effective HR policy advice including support to HR staff, aligned to global/local HR strategy and policies. Contributing to a competitive Employee Value Proposition, you will develop new policies/benefits and recommend changes of existing ones to respond to shifting market needs, embracing trends and enhancing attractiveness for diverse generations as well as flexibility/agility. As the HR Policy Advisor, you will be reviewing policies/benefits to ensure compliance to local law/regulation and enabling HR digitalization/automation whilst actively contributing to the implementation of further Workday releases by analyzing local requirements, looking for improvement opportunities, populating workbook content, supporting decisions on configuration, testing and consultation as well as managing change with focus on implementation. Ultimately you will play a vital role in supporting local Continuous Improvement activities to drive simplification and standardization in HR policy and processes; thus providing opportunities for a more value adding HR contribution to the business. The position can be based in Hamburg or Cologne.
What is the role
Responsible for developing new and maintaining/adjusting existing policies for Germany supporting the business and people agenda aligned with global direction
Taking external trends and new requirements pro-actively into account and think employee back with (internal) customer focus
Supporting digitalization opportunities and employee-centric simplification of policies/benefit offers and processes as appropriate
Driving extended use of Workday as the IT enabler for world class and global HR processes, closely collaborating with global/external Workday project teams and across HR departments
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of (potential) changes in German regulations or law
Revising policies as needed based on new laws and requirements and business requests
Supporting appropriate and effective consultation with (Central) Staff Council in the area of policies and benefits in collaboration with ER/IR
Delivering effective HR policy advice, services and support
Driving standardization and simplification in HR policy and process
Managing complex and sensitive issues with potential tension between HR and Business, local and global requirements, driving compliance and responding to business needs
Securing stakeholder understanding of and commitment to standardized policies and process.
Providing fit-for-business-purpose country solutions within framework of global policies
What we need from you
Graduate with professional HR background and several years work experience
Prior experience in HR Operations, Policy, ER/IR and good legal understanding of advantage
Affinity to become a Policy / Compensation and Benefits Expert
Proven track record of innovative approaches including effective communications, structured project planning, change management and stakeholder identification/management with ability to push projects successful to the target line
Strong interest in supporting digitalization and analytics, developing HR IT solutions, analytical approach, detail-orientation with motivation to improve and perseverance/staying power
Understanding of local external market trends, business context, and value drivers to derive insights to drive effective long-term policy decision-making
Strong diagnostic and evaluation skills with the ability to distill key themes and value drivers from complex and sometimes conflicting data and insights
Flexible and responsive to a changing environment
Natural team player, autonomous, self-motivated and proactive
Establish key stakeholder relationships and work across boundaries to drive results
Languages required: German & English
