Human Resources Strategic Initiative Lead

Lets do this! Lets change the world! In this vital Human Resources role you will use your business acumen, project management, change management, and advising skills to help Amgens senior executive team achieve key business objectives that span across the organization.
Amgen is seeking talented, high potential professionals to join our Human Resources organization as HR Strategic Initiative Leads, reporting to the Vice President Human Resources for Amgens commercial organization and working either in Thousand Oaks, California or remotely from the candidates current home location. The Strategic Initiatives Lead will be an experienced HR Senior Manager who spends 18-24 months working on complex, needle-moving company initiatives and providing supplemental HRBP support to Amgen functions, after which they are expected to transition into broadening HR roles across Amgens HR Business Partner and/or Center of Excellence communities around the globe. This is role that provides outstanding professional growth and career development. Examples of initiatives on which team members may work include broad, complex Mergers & Acquisitions projects; ideation and execution of Future of Work transformations; the stand up of new business organizations (e.g., shared service centers in the US or abroad); critical, strategic cross-functional capability builds such as Digital; and/or directly supporting a major Amgen business segment with HR Business Partner support on an interim basis. While initially using ones passion for supporting Amgens Southern California headquarters teams, these roles will offer opportunities for individuals to relocate to other Amgen US and international locations.
Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders globally by guiding the framing and delivery of broad and business-critical corporate initiatives.
Combine business and people insights to mentor and guide executive clients in strategic capability builds.
Provide insights and recommendations to Amgens HR Strategy Team and CHRO concerning specific strategic projects.
Stay current on leading talent trends and deliver practical and insightful thought leadership to the business, while also sharing knowledge and best practices with Amgens global HR organization
What we expect of you

Basic QualificationsDoctorate degree and 2 years Human Resources or similar experience
OrMasters degree and 4 years of Human Resources or similar experience
OrBachelors degree and 6 years of Human Resources or similar experience
OrAssociates degree and 10 years of Human Resources or similar experience
OrHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources or similar experience
Preferred QualificationsMBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as business, management, organizational development, human resources development, or physical sciences and Biotechnology industry knowledge
6+ years of progressively sophisticated/strategic HR or similar consulting experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, staff development and recruitment
Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources
Motivated team player with a strong drive to build a positive work environment
Strong internal and external customer service focus
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - orientated on results
Passion for building innovative HR solutions and process improvement
Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to go with proven ability to partner well with other HR and business functions
Finely developed knowledge of how to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives
