The Short Term Specialist is a six month contract, reporting to the Manager, Resource. The Short Term Specialist is responsible for the effective and efficient management, scheduling, and short-term deployment of Screening Officers within the operation.
TASKS & DUTIES:
*Develop, deploy, and maintain short term planning surrounding schedules *Monitor and achieve KPI targets within scope *Liaise with stakeholders to meet client and corporate targets *Manage accommodations, shift and vacation bids, overtime, shift donation and trades, timecards, vacations, Web-App access *Create and deploy reports *Analyze the efficiency of the schedule and implement processes for continuous improvement *Actualize plans with the assistance of the Manager, Resource *Assist and collaborate with the training department in coordinating Screening Personnel scheduling and attendance at courses in the National Training and Certification program (OJT, certification testing and others) *Identify the needs for recruitment due to all factors of attrition and any additional positions requested by the client *Foster connectedness and collaboration between administrative and operation sectors through timely communication *Other duties as required
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
*University or College degree in Business Management or Administration preferred *Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) *Excellent written, verbal and communication skills *Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment *Strong data analysis and analytical skills *Ability to work independently and be a self-starter *Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment *Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work *Ability to work in a 24/7 fast paced environment *Familiarity with internal systems, such as GSKED and CATSA's LMS system is an asset *Previous experience working in a unionized environment is an asset *Bilingual in English and French is an asset
