The HR Generalist will perform a wide variety of duties under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources. The HR Generalist will assist and collaborate with the HR managers team on a wide variety of HR responsibilities and provide overall support for the day-to-day HR operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform tasks required to administer and implement human resources programs, including but not limited to: benefits, compensation, and leave; employment and recruitment; employee and labor relations; HRIS; performance management; occupational health and safety; training & development; and other areas as required.
• Process transactional data and paperwork, maintains records, conduct research, and produce reports in support of the HR functional areas.
• Assist with a variety of HR systems and data management (including but not limited to Banner, PageUp, Saba Halogen, TimeClock Plus, EverFi, and other web-based HR systems).
• Review university policies and processes to maintain compliance.
• Refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR manager.
• Provide administrative support to the AVP for HR, including assistance for special projects.
• Handle and maintain confidential employee and employment information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• At least three years of related office experience; HR experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or non-profit management, or related field.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and MS Office skills (including Excel).
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
Desired Qualifications:
• SHRM PHR certification preferred.
• Experience in higher education or non-for-profit environment.
• Strong knowledge in Banner ERP, employee performance management and/or applicant tracking systems.
