As part of the Digital HR organisation, the Automation team is a global team partnering with HR Operations, with global population of c. 1,800 staff. HR Operations in turn provide support to all Shell Employees and Line Managers, globally numbering over 83,000 – which gives you the great prospect of contributing to a seamless Employee Experience for anyone in Shell! The team’s purpose is to strengthen operational excellence by designing automation tools thus reducing human-related errors, and eradicating repetitive, time-consuming tasks to relieve the HR Operations so that they can prioritize high-level activities.
Joining the Automation team is a unique and exciting global opportunity for you to work with a dynamic portfolio of Employee Experience team in Digital HR. The Automation Specialist role is cooperating with HR Operations by championing digitalisation and process automation. Join us to translate HR Operations requirements into smart automation solutions reducing repetitive activates and maximising efficiency of delivered HR processes.
What’s the role?
Automation Specialist role has the following areas of focus:
Digitalisation through automation:
Demonstrate specialized understanding of the total technical support area and systems within scope to implement innovative automation tools thus contributing to a seamless Employee Experience
Advise the internal stakeholders on topics related to available automation solutions to eliminate repetitive, time-consuming tasks performed by HR Operations
Collaboration:
Partner with HRIT, Performance and Improvement Team, HR Operations to design innovative automation solutions
Support the stakeholders on topics related to automations opportunities and delivery
Generic:
Apply CI principles to achieve efficiency through HR process improvements and usage of automation tools
Apply effective governance, assurance, and risk management to delivered automation tools (e.g., Data Privacy compliance, Information Risk Management (IRM), End User Computing (EUC))
Maintain and update repository of all automation related activities for owned region
What we need from you?
Has a strong technical acumen and analytical skills
Has a software development working experience, proficient in MS Office, especially MS Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and SharePoint
Understands how Shell People works and can develop a solution to upload and extract data from Shell People
Applies effective governance, assurance, and risk management to delivered automations
Carries out assignments and projects, alone or as part of a team, applying knowledge, skills, and experience
Effective and persuasive in both written and oral communication in English; strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to network across boundaries in a global, virtual organisation by supporting colleagues in various locations and time zones
HR Operations experience will be an advantage to drive a successful partnering with HR Operations while championing digitalisation and process automation
Pro-active and self-learner
Experience in Workday, MS Access, HTML, SQL/PL SQL, C , Java Script, Power Apps will be an added advantage
Ability to create a solution from a web-based data extraction (e.g., understanding how to read/extract Workday data) will be an advantage
