The main objective of the HR Function is to deliver value to Shell and its constituent Businesses and Functions by developing and executing people strategies in direct support of the Group Strategy.
The HR Consultant is a key partner in enabling the delivery of Shell’s ambitions to lead and thrive in the Energy Transition by supporting Shell businesses in Australia. HR Consultants are a resource within the HR function who are flexibly deployed on projects with the highest business add value and/or priorities.
What’s the role?
As an HR consultant you work closely with the business and leaders to manage and integrate a breadth of functional HR disciplines and providing meaningful solutions. To deliver this you make use of project management, change management, integrative leadership, and consulting skills. You also actively contribute to develop these internally and externally relevant skills to drive world class HR.
Purpose
Define, design and lead implementation of country-specific projects and interventions to deliver the country People Agenda in support of the country business agenda.
Design, develop and implement specific interventions, solutions, or programs in support of the People Agenda.
Co-ordinate or execute projects and change initiatives, deployment of engage and perform and interventions to drive organisational capability.
Accountabilities
Collaborate with Country HR colleagues and/or HRBPs across Businesses and/or Functions.
Design, develop and implement specific interventions, solutions, or programmes in support of the People Agenda for the country.
Define and contract the blend of HR (or other functional) resources locally required to deliver the intervention and contract with resources to deliver business-critical requirements.
Manage and co-ordinate delivery of defined interventions – leading cross-functional, cross-country, and virtual team members where needed.
Manage cost-effective and timely local delivery of critical business change initiatives such as:Country-specific organisational redesign and implementation including liaison with Country HR ER/IR and HR Operations specialists.
Implementation of country-specific D&I initiatives.
HR Consultants are a flexible resource as such dimensions may not be fixed. Experience level will drive where HR Consultants are deployed.
What we need from you
We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:
Ability to acquire understanding of the specific business & functional context for which the intervention is required – including business value drivers and cost management levers.
Effective consulting skills: diagnosis, inquiry, contracting and facilitation – to accurately scope the required work, assess resources required, contract (with support from HR Consultants Lead as necessary) the right team and facilitate defined interventions.
Ability to engage and influence business or function stakeholders. Project management capability – familiar with and able to selectively deploy a range of project management tools and methodologies.
Ability to support the use of organisation change management methodologies and associated tools.
Effective use of data and trend analysis to determine root cause and to define and track relevant business outcomes.
Ability to deliver through others.
Effective coach to cross-functional, virtual teams beyond formal line of authority.
