What your day will look likeNorth America Employee Relations Responsibilities:Manage an internal team of Employee Relations (ER) consultants in the delivery of core ER services in partnership with the North America ER COE Leader in the areas of: Management of Allegations and Performance Provision of People and ER Policy Consultation and Policy management Absence & Wellbeing Management Organizational change support Litigation & Risk Management Provide high quality employee relations advice to leadership, business managers and senior People Org leaders and COE functional partners, collaborating effectively across teams and functions/geographies to deliver best practice results Use coaching and influencing skills to ensure the right outcome is achieved for Aon, managing risk while improving business results, and developing strong partnering relationships with collaborators, clients and other regional COE teams. Advise stakeholders on the understanding, ownership and application of all aspects of North America employment legislation, procedural compliance and standard process, collaborating with North America Legal partners and relevant team members in country/region as required for case or project deliverables. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ER Consultants on case and project work to ensure team is aligned to Aon and People Organization strategy Reviews ER allegation/investigation cases to ensure they were handled appropriately and in accordance with all current labor laws and that all risk mitigation efforts have been considered Responds to and addresses all team issues as they arise; works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of subjective and objective factors. Identifies opportunities and suggestions for continuous improvements to ER Operating Model effectively influencing key partners to achieve desired outcome. Implement process improvements as identified and prioritized by leadership and ensure stakeholder artifacts, standard operating procedure documentation and process documentation is up to date. Assist in the development of a proactive ER agenda, project work, knowledge sharing, succession planning and professional development activities and day to day tasks Manage delivery team by actively observing and ensuring key performance indicators, SLA’s and NPS scores are captured, reported on and consistently met. Global Policy Governance Program Management Responsibilities:Drive Global People policy ownership alignment and agreement, identify and implement policy standardization opportunities, collaborate across regions with relevant partners to drive consistent and harmonized policy delivery. Partner with Regional ER COE leaders and People Organization Leadership (namely CTO and CPO’s) to bring strategic vision to life. Establish governance model for global people policy management to ensure policy content is up to date, accurate and ensure policy owner accountability with data and measurements in partnership with ER COE leaders. Coordinate with key customers and Employee Relations teams to provide consultation on the design, development, and implementation of new Global People policies and partner with local experts to promote local application. Develop global standards for this scope demonstrating and improving upon standard methodologies deployed in certain regions/countries. Manage, govern and maintain policy framework including policy approval, retaining, retiring policies in accordance with the policy governance and retention standards. Regularly assess and drive aligned owners to update existing People policies including simplification of policies, ease of interpretation, consistent with the globally aligned approach of policy development for uniformity based on data and trend insights. Partner with the People Business Partners, Employee Relations teams and relevant partners to continually review the industry benchmark, market trends and organizational culture to identify need for a new policies to address trends and issues. Keep abreast of People policy trends, acquire an in-depth understanding of strategic issues for effective and authoritative advice to senior management Develop training resources and associated templates to support awareness and compliance with People policies. Qualifications: At least 7 years of Employee Relations, Program Management, Policy guidance and Operational delivery experience. Recognized technical authority for Human Resources and Employee Relations along with a solid understanding for business management and the application of Human Resources policies and practices. Significant knowledge of employment policies, practices, and ability to navigate and consider employment law and regulations. Experience drafting material for a broad audience, including regular communications, training material, and formal documents. Ability to conceptualize, analyze and develop policy governance strategies and complete governance management. Excellent communication and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to drive understanding and action through effective influencing of leaders across multiple functional areas. Ability to synthesize complex topics to highlight key details and support consistent understanding. Ability to build solid relationships at all levels and influence collaborative outcomes within region and globally. Operational mentality with comfort driving end to end process discussion and documentation, streamlining ideation and project development and execution to drive desired change. Demonstrated stakeholder relationship building and management globally in large forums. Focused vendor management skills to drive outcomes sought by Aon and hold vendors accountable to terms and conditions of delivery to Aon. Strong technical capabilities to develop content repository strategy and complete that strategy Ability to influence without direct span of control.
