Job Summary
The Learning & Development Supervisor will be responsible for helping to define U.S. Health and Safety Training and Content development strategy and framework. This role requires supporting the design of development programs and the defining of the knowledge management approach. The Learning & Development Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to multimedia and or content development of e-learning and blended learning content for enterprise-wide programs using Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE), and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) guidelines for building effective training strategies and performance support tools.
Responsibilities
Supports the development of the learning and talent development approach in partnership with the Director of Learning Management
Develops learning programs to address talent needs to improve workforce performance through training (e.g., reskilling, upskilling), coaching, and people development
Assists in creation of development plans and objectives to retain the talent needed to meet its immediate/long-term business needs
Researches external factors that could impact learning & development requirements and recommends solutions to mitigate risks
Develops the communications strategy to inform employees of required training and raise awareness of optional learning opportunities; measures the success of communications strategy and implement solutions to improve
Collaborates with HR Services to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs; implement strategies and initiatives to address identified issues and embraces change for U.S. Health and Safety Training strategies
Leverages HR metrics and data to demonstrate the value of content development initiatives, support continuous improvement, and inform business decisions
Gathers data on training needs and learning interventions to integrate design of training materials and programs
Identifies needs and skill gap analysis to determine the process of aligning objectives with identified training/development needs
Responds to internal customer requests to analyze and evaluate training needs and offer appropriate solution strategies and performing all content or media edits bases on SME’s feedback
Makes adjustments throughout the project to ensure the successful attainment of the stated learning and training objectives
Produces instructional materials for various instructional delivery methods (e.g., classroom, e-learning and written job aids, etc.) to meet project specifications
Manages design solutions to verify identified objectives meet project sponsors’ requirements
Develops multimedia content in collaboration with graphic, visual and Instructional Designers
Designs and produces attractive multimedia and engaging instructional design content
Manages design of pilot classes strategically to disseminate training and learning materials and owns logistics for successful deployment
Owns partnership with the Learning Technologies Team to define reporting requirements for learning management systems such as the LMS and knowledge management system
Manages input of the course development team (e.g., Learning Strategy, Learning Technologies, Leadership Development, etc.) and SMEs to create content/assignments applicable to business unit needs/best practices
Preferences
Applies knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design to the creation of instructional materials; demonstrates ability to identify implementation gaps and provide suggestions for improvement; identifies appropriate measurement to assess learning
Recognizes importance of understanding global and cultural diversity; interested in learning about cultural differences that impact business
Proficient with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, Camtasia and Captivate
Defines general business requirements for projects and/or processes; modifies or adjusts existing designs; develops working models and describes the impact of not following design specifications
Demonstrates excellent financial/business acumen, analytical abilities, and strong verbal/written communication skills
Displays executive presence to interact easily across all levels within the organization
Possesses experience with strategic, critical thinking work, and collaborating with global project teams
Displays ability to influence, partner and develop productive relationships with HR leaders to achieve necessary goals
Self-starter with a proactive and inquisitive nature who can anticipate and pre-empt problems; ability to work effectively in an environment subject to changing priorities and short deadlines
Possesses a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with 1-year of experience with Learning and Development
Experience working with internal customers, BPO, external vendors and instructional design experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in graphic design, digital design, instructional design, education, or a related field
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Proficient with Photoshop or InVision
