The People Team
The People team plays a key role in enabling the firm to attract, develop and retain great people, and giving them the tools and support needed to develop and fulfil their potential, and that of the firm.
The team consists of c.45 people in both business-facing, generalist roles (Advisory) alongside specialist teams (Data & Systems; Reward; Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing; Employment, Policy & Engagement; Talent Acquisition; as well as our Academy, which consists of both Academy Learning, and Early Careers).
Job Purpose
The firm has grown rapidly in recent years, which has meant that policy, processes and systems have had to change and adapt to support this. As part of this change the People team reviewed its operating structure and centralised certain processes to a PeopleHub, with the Hub providing key support to the wider team, including People Advisory and Reward.
The team consists of a People Systems and Data Manager, a People Systems and Data Analyst, 2 People Administrators and this role.
To support the firm's strategy, we need to ensure the way our processes are developed are in keeping with our 10-year vision, ensuring that the employee experience is central to all interactions, that the processes are applied consistently and that they are continuously reviewed to ensure operational efficiency
To achieve this, to the person in this role will become a subject matter expert on all Mishcon People processes, understanding how these are applied within the People Team and wider Firm, as well as actively contributing to their continual improvement. The Assistant will also play a key connecting role between all aspects of our People and Payroll teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the monthly PeopleHub payroll process cycle, working collaboratively with our payroll team
Manage the administration on the monthly benefits process
Train new joiners on PeopleHub administration
Support the People Administrators in managing, and dealing with requests and queries in the People Team inboxes
Demonstrate an ongoing endeavour to ensure data integrity. Work with the Analyst around data audits and putting in processes to ensure better quality data
Support the Reward Manager with the annual benefit renewal process
Develop a high-level understanding of the data flows between the PeopleHub and other systems across the firm and specifically the downstream impacts on other departments
Be aware of GDPR and other data protection laws, ensuring any compliance concerns/issues are reported to the People Systems and Data Manager and/or People Director
Support the PeopleHub Administrators with data input and other processes when required
Support the People Team in wider projects
Skills
/Experience
Experience working with People systems including HRIS and Benefits
Advanced expertise in MS Excel (specifically 'vlookups', pivot tables, 'if' formulas etc.)
Experience dealing with large sets of data and being able to manipulate this into meaningful outputs
Excellent attention to detail
Critical thinker with proven ability to improve processes
Able to demonstrate an understanding of data protection regulations e.g., GDPR
Maturity in dealing with confidential data including salaries
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to effectively manage own workload
Excellent communicator - good written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact and communicate at all levels
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Personable and confident, able to build relationships across all areas of the team and firm
