The Field Services team thrives on providing installation and repair services for business and residential customers using the latest technology, including Fibre, Optical Ethernet, IPVPN.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Management Initiatives, the Human Resource Specialist for the Field Operations team will be responsible for supporting Field Operational Directors locally as well as owning people programs centrally. Your responsibility will include advising and supporting Field leaders with unionized non-management issues related to the Collective Agreement including performance management and administering administrative and disciplinary measures. You will be required to assist management in developing and implementing solutions through culture, processes and best practices while ensuring compliance of all internal policies and Federal/Provincial laws. The successful candidate will also manage and administer a variety of employee programs related to performance management, accommodations, labour relations, orientation, recognition and occupational health and safety.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Support Operational Leaders by providing program management, training and reporting to effectively lead, coach and develop high performance teams. *Coordinate the scheduling and timeliness of various leader forums on a regular and periodic basis to meet deadlines and achieve results. *Work closely and collaboratively with the corporate HR team to continually optimize program success and support new initiatives for a team of up to 4000 front lines operational employees *Support various employee initiatives by analyzing and consolidating data, summarizing results and key trends, updating materials and preparing reports and presentations to help advance local and corporate strategic objectives. *Work closely with senior leaders to establish, implement, and communicate processes and process improvements. *Prepare monthly executive presentations and facilitate operational review sessions summarizing highlights and opportunities of key programs. *Supporting managers through the grievance process by tracking responses and ensuring timelines defined by the Collective Agreement are met. *Liaison with Human Resources, Manulife and the Bell Disability Management Group on complex disability cases and medical accommodations, ensuring that the workplace is properly equipped to deal with supported accommodations/limitations *Providing administrative support on a quarterly or as needed basis for Provincial and Policy Occupational Health and Safety Committees and associated programs.
 
 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

 

*2 years or more of relevant human resource or people management experience. *Ability to lead a team and coach staff *Ability to establish & maintain effective relationships with all levels of management *Strong knowledge of the Collective Agreement and the ability to partner and maintain a strong working relationship with the Union *Knowledge of corporate policies including Health & Safety, Presence at work, The Civility Guidelines and the Code of Business Conduct *Effective communication with strong presentation skills (written & oral). *Ability to compile complex information gathered from multiple sources and present in an easy-to-understand format. *Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends to support recommendations/process improvement. *Highly collaborative team player with the ability to also work independently with minimum supervision. *Able to develop strong relationships with leaders. *Excellent knowledge of office software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. *Strong ability to think critically and to acquire/apply new knowledge and skills in a dynamic environment. *Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, adapt quickly to changing priorities and remain focused under pressure. *Willingness to work hands-on, learning all aspects of the operations continually building credibility and knowledge. 
 
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

*Knowledge and experience of Field Operations *University or collegiate degree *Human Resource Management Certificate *Experience with leading and directing in a unionized environment would be an asset *Bilingualism in English and French would be an asset
 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
