The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland
is one of Shell´s five Energy and Chemicals Park globally. The asset consists of the two sites South (Wesseling) and North (Godorf) and has started a major transformation program to convert the sites from a refinery and chemicals plant into a Shell Energy and Chemicals park of the future that meets and supports Shell´s energy transition targets and plays a significant role in the energy transition of Germany as a whole and the “Rheinisches Revier” in NRW in particular.
The transformation program at Rheinland does not only involve changing the plants and products we produce. It goes along with a major change programs around digitalization, cost and safety leadership, upskilling and ultimately transforming the jobs of our workforce (currently ca. 1.800 own plus ca. 1.500 partner company staff) from grey into green jobs.Together with Shell´s assets in The Netherlands Pernis and Moerdijk, Rheinland is part of the Chemicals and Products North West Europe (NWE) cluster.
The HR Manager Rheinland
plays a key role in translating the business and transformation strategy into the people strategy, integrating it across all relevant HR Functions, ensuring delivery and enabling business results. The HR Manager is a key member of the Rheinland Site Leadership Team, the Germany HR Leadership Team as well as the global Chemicals and Products HR LT. There is also a close collaboration with the HR Managers of the other two sites in the NWE cluster.
What is the role?
As the HR Manager Rheinland, your key responsibilities will include
Partner with the Site Leadership Team (SLT), Country- and CP-HR LTs to ensure the delivery of the strategic site People Plan and relevant HR transformation and improvement initiatives at site level.
Design, own and provide steer, advice and coaching for the delivery of an integrated strategic HR agenda. This includes all aspects of talent, performance management, leadership, people management, organizational set up and design, change management, industrial and employee relations, HR policies, learning and development, workforce and cost planning.
Drive the site strategic agenda through effective leadership at various leadership levels and across the business, all relevant local and global HR organizations as well as consultation bodies as applicable.
Ensure People processes and policies for Rheinland are in place and further developed that are purposeful to support the business and transformation targets.
Ensure through indirect leadership, engagement, coaching and motivation that indirect HR teams perform and deliver their work objectives required to deliver the Rheinland People agenda.
Manage/contribute to deliver the country HR agenda as an active and senior member of the Germany HR LT.
Maintain a close interface with OD & Learning (on site and global) as well as with Talent and ensure Talent and demographic health of the organization.
Drive Employee Engagement for the business asset.
What we need from you
University degree level qualification
Successful track record as seasoned HR Professional gained across a broad variety of HR management functions in international/matrixed organizations and industrial assets
Deep expertise in managing organizational change
Ability to gain deep understanding of business priorities and to translate these into People priorities and HR actions
Genuine commercial interest and business intimacy to understand what’s going on to deliver value
Strong Business partnering, stakeholder management and integrative leadership skills
Strong coaching and influencing skills
High Continuous improvement focus to drive greater effectiveness
Business fluent in English and German
