Job Purpose/Summary: This position is expected to lead and direct the Benefit Systems and Benefit Accounting team to provide related services, compliance and systems support for Tyson benefit plans, third party administrators and other vendors in order to achieve business objectives and compliance with plan and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Guide a team of specialized benefit system experts to ensure accurate benefit offerings, timely benefit plan access for eligible team members and financial reporting of benefit plans. Provide oversight and compliance validation of COBRA event reporting and Qualified Medical Support process. By partnering with IT, Payroll and HR Connect, oversee process improvements through technology to adopt best practices and eliminate manual intervention and data entry.

Oversee development and review of annual department budgets along with reporting benefit plan expenses. Provide and maintain accurate deposits and funding for all benefit plans. Proxy and SOX controls reporting, provide information to internal and external auditors.

Achieve compliance with benefit related government regulations, GAAP and plan documents. This includes the submission of multiple Affordable Care Act Forms, PCORI, Form 5500, Summary Annual Report, IRS filing and state filings. Responsible for benefit plan W2 tax reporting in coordination with Payroll group.

Provide oversight for multiple benefit reimbursement policies; including Educational Assistance, Adoption Assistance, Citizenship application and COBRA.

Provide benefit leadership pertaining to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Act as project leader for adding benefit plans to systems, ensuring accounting and payroll are informed of requirements. Collaborate with HR Connect and HR Solutions for master data setup. Implement new vendor integrations by working with vendor and IT.

Participate in strategic annual benefit change planning. Ensure that systems and accounting are capable of the introduced changes and develop a plan to create a successful implementation.

Requirements:

Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: 10 years of Human Resources experience with a proven record of modernizing HRIS platforms

5 years of accounting experience

Experience using SAP and Workday for data analytics

Ability to develop and lead a continuous improvement processes

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills, Workday and SAP knowledge

Communication Skills: This position will interact with and is expected to communicate results/recommendations and secure buy-in across a broad range of users, stakeholders and management. Must possess the ability to translate complex technical information into business facing language. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory: This position has direct reports along with indirect reports

Travel: 3 plus trips per year
