Overview
As the Senior HR Business Partner for IGT you will be the face of the IGT People and Transformation function for assigned employee populations across multiple states and organizations, with a primary focus on IGT’s gaming and lottery businesses based in California. You will be responsible to execute people related processes and practices that support an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, productivity, engagement and ongoing development of a superior workforce. You will work with managers and employees to drive and implement people focused initiatives including integrated talent management, performance management, compensation management, succession planning, and organizational development strategies as we further refine and expand our People and Transformation capabilities and processes.
In this role, you will be able to positively influence change across the organization and partner with the assigned local leadership team(s) in defining talent needs and developing the scope of people related projects. You must be able to set priorities, manage to tight timelines, and partner well with colleagues from around the globe in an ever-changing environment. This position will report to the Senior Director of People and Transformation supporting the Supply Chain and Field Services organizations.
Responsibilities
• Coach and consult with managers and team members on various people issues by:
• identifying and clarifying problems.
• evaluating and implementing solutions.
• coaching and counseling managers and team members as needed.
• With account leadership, facilitate regular succession planning sessions and implement action plans to ensure a succession ready bench and development of high potential employees.
• Establish rapport and create open lines of communication across functions and locations.
• Understand the drivers of employee engagement and work to continuously improve the work environment and organization culture.
• Handle all escalated employee relations issues and concerns, working with internal partners and senior leaders to determine resolutions. Must be experienced with internal investigatory processes and how to ensure outcomes are fair, consistent, and compliant with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
• Drive the annual performance and compensation review processes for assigned groups.
• Ensure compliance with compensation guidelines and approvals outside of the annual review process. Provide input on salary recommendations.
• Support fellow team members on projects that support designated client groups and/or company-wide people focused initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local and national legal requirements, advising management on needed actions.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Guide teams on the consistent application of people focused polices and best practices.
• Understand the IGT People Strategy and your role in helping to achieve its objectives.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
• 8 years of HR Generalist/Business Partner experience supporting large employee populations of 300 plus, including multiple local and remote customers. Current experience supporting employee populations and managing employment related practices in California is required.
• Proven expertise in talent management, workforce planning, change management, organizational development, and other strategic people initiatives.
• Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration, or another related field required.
• Demonstrated success working in a fast paced, matrix environment involving close coordination with HR centers of expertise. Ability to quickly learn new skills, systems, and procedures.
• Experience with creating lasting change using intentional organizational design and development practices.
• Full knowledge of legal implications of the employment relationship, especially as it relates to operating in California.
• Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills. Ability to establish and sustain relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and utilize data to influence business decisions.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with continuous improvement practices.
• Excellent project management skills. Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member.
• Strong business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree a plus
• HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI) strongly desired
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and HRIS systems.
