King and Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Payroll Manager to join our team in Atlanta.u00A0 The candidate will be responsible for managing the U.S. and International Payroll Coordinators in the maintenance of all payroll records and the processing of domestic and foreign payrolls.u00A0 u00A0The firm offers a generous total compensation package with bonuses and raises awarded in recognition of individual merit-based performance.u00A0 Eligible employees may participate in King & Spaldingu2019s comprehensive benefit program including health and wellness plans, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a health savings account, a 401(k) plan, a profit-sharing plan, on-site gym access, and onsite childcare center and a Paid Time Off (PTO) program.u00A0 u00A0GENERAL SUMMARY:Provide primary back-up coverage to all supervised payroll positions, personally performing payroll processing if needed.Review, audit, and approve all payrolls, funding requests, and routine payroll tasks.Audit and ensure adequate separation of duties and financial controls.Responsible for the interface of data between the payroll systems and all other administrative systems, such as the General Ledger, Workday, and InTapp. Provide general support to the CHRO and Associate Director Global Payroll.u00A0JOB FUNCTIONS:Train, manage and evaluate staffReview all draft payrolls for accuracyPlan and implement any required payroll process changes for new officesManage all payroll processing calendarsPrepare year end payroll calendaru00A0 Manage and supervise all payroll year end tasksMaintain payroll data within WorkdayPrepare or supervise all G/L interfacesBalance employee loans records to the G/LClear payroll checks and work with Finance on bank account reconciliationsPrepare and import special earnings such as bonus or stipendsAudit the accuracy of precheck and processed payroll data, such as tax jurisdictions, parking deductions, new Associate and Summer Associate set-upAnalyze InTapp billable OT hours as compared to Time & Attendance hours, and work with secretarial managers to resolve differencesResearch, manage, and implement payroll changes to support new tax law changesConfigure and run ad-hoc reports as neededPrepare and process Profit Sharing - 401(k) contribution filesMaintain current documentation for all Payroll Department responsibilities:U.S. and International payroll proceduresTime & Attendance proceduresInTapp and Financial System (Aderant) proceduresu00A0SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:Strong PC skills and electronic spreadsheet expertise at an intermediate levelDetail oriented with ability to apply procedures and policies to various situationsStrong people skills and able to lead a team of professionals, and communicate well with all levels of personnelu00A0EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Professional payroll certification (e.g., u201CCPPu201D) or accounting background preferred College degree with major in business administration, accounting, HR or related areau00A0 At least 5 years of experience with primary concentration in Payroll including supervisory responsibilitiesu00A0 Five years of domestic and international payroll preparation experienceFamiliarity with wage & hour, ERISA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA and other government regulations.Workday payroll experience strongly preferredWork experience in a legal or professional services environment preferredu00A0JOB CONDITIONS:Exempt position, but must be available to work additional hours as requiredWorking in person at a K&S office at least 3 days per weekConsiderable time is spent using a personal computer and payroll softwareWorking with record storage cartons requiring lifting of 25-pound cartonsu00A0We are proud of our remarkably cohesive culture, which now encompasses more than 2000 lawyers and business professionals in 24 offices worldwide.
