HR Consultant

1
Job Description:
Bring your HR experience to our Shell Netherlands HR think tank and help create and communicate Human Capital policies that apply to our Shell employees working in NAM.
What’s the role?

Your role is to be our expert on those local policies (often established in the local CLA) ensuring they are executed as intended and providing policy expertise that helps the HR community to support the business.
Your role will include supporting CLA preparation. You’ll take the lead on local policy development, whether that’s developing policies for specific locations or policies that relate to new CLA’s which are established through a continuous dialog with Unions and other stakeholders rather than negotiations (social innovation). Working with stakeholders is a key part of your remit too: you’ll need to ensure that Employee Value Propositions (including pay) is well understood and that there’s smooth consultation with the local staff council.
Where you fit in
You’ll be part of Shell the Netherlands’ HR Centre of Expertise unit that’s accountable for Policy, Pay, Benefits and Processes We are an HR think-tank: we develop policy that adds value to the business and manage $multi-million projects spanning attraction, deployment, performance and retention through to redundancy and pensions. What we need from you
In terms of experience, our ideal candidate would be an experienced HR professional with an academic qualification (i.e Law, Business Administration or Psychology).
Policy and benefits experience would be an advantage but isn’t essential provided you’re a broad thinker – you need to show evidence that you understand complex and ambiguous issues and can translate this into relevant policy.
In particular, you should be able to show us you have a good understanding of business and how policy, compensation and benefits drive commercial value.
We would also expect:
Project management experience: a reputation for getting things started – and completed. You prioritise well and can deliver parallel projects, even when time is tight.
Strong analytical skills; you are number savvy and can use Excel and PowerPoint.
Accomplished relationship-building skills – you know what it takes to be successful in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
You’re a confident communicator, both in person and on paper, in Dutch and English.
On top of that, we’re keen to hear from men and women whose CVs would include as a nice to have:
Consultation and negotiation experience.
In-depth knowledge of labour and employment laws
