POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of the Human Resources Manager is to serve as a business partner to Conergy at all levels of the organization. This position is responsible for developing policies as well as coordinating human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, compliance, etc. in US and Canada as well as other countries, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HR Management:
55%
Advises management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Analyzes wage, salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs and analyzes personnel expense variances.
Creates and modifies job descriptions within all departments.
Manages the employee performance evaluation process and merit program.
Develops and administers all HR policies, programs and procedures.
Provides guidance and partners with management on talent acquisition.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and provincial employee training requirements.
Stays abreast of labor law, wage and hour requirements and alerts managers of potential issues.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance (EEOC, OSHA 300 Log, etc.).
Coordinates on-boarding process, conducts background investigations, creates offer letters and administers new hire orientations.
Prepares and maintains employee personnel, benefit and payroll files.
Creates new employee records and update information in the Company’s HRIS.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation.
Conducts exit interviews and identifies trends behind separations.
Oversees electronic time reporting and PTO accrual system.
Payroll: 35%
Processes and reviews bi-weekly payroll, validating data for accuracy and for compliance with federal and state/provincial tax and labor laws in US and Canada.
Performs account reconciliations, journal entries and support schedules.
Prepares accruals and close of payroll.
Completes prevailing wage reports for government construction projects.
Processes all manual check requests.
Benefits

Designs benefits plans and manages open enrollment process.
Audits monthly benefit carrier invoices and code in IQ.
Manages the completion of the annual 401k and Worker’s Compensation audit.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Works with all levels of the organization as well as with outside vendors and agencies. Directly supervises 0-1 employee.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years of HR Management & payroll experience required.
Prevailing wage experience preferred.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma (GED) required
A degree in Human Resources preferred.
PHR/SPHR preferred

Approaches others in a tactful manner, treats people with respect and reacts well under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Visio, as well as standard office equipment.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
The HR department is a one-person department so the HR Manager must have a diverse HR background and feel comfortable performing all duties within the HR department, from data entry, employee file maintenance, benefits, payroll, employee relations, etc. to higher level strategic initiatives and partnering with the executive management team. The HR Manager must have the ability self- manage themself and feel comfortable making HR decisions independently. There will be no one within the organization who can provide guidance to on their day to day activities. The HR Manager will be deemed as the subject matter expert and be relied upon to make decisions independently. This is a busy role with multiple and growing responsibilities. The person who fills this role must be able to juggle multiple priorities and have the ability to prioritize his/her work independently.
The selected candidate will be required to travel to Denver, CO. for 4-6 weeks to train with the current HR Manager. Once training is completed, the incumbent will return to Miami, FL and take over all HR responsibilities for the Company.
