The key enabler is to drive operational excellence delivery across Payroll Accounting in close collaboration with Human Resource Policy and Payroll, R&A, Group Services and Recoveries, and Accounts Payable as our main business partners. Currently, Payroll Accounting Process is owned by Global HR Payroll so there’s a joint effort to Standardize, Streamline and Automate the Pay People Process, also in preparation for the upcoming implementation of the Global Payroll Strategy. The team supports 38 countries, covering 201 Shell companies across various financial systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
What is the role?
Plays a key role in advancing Payroll Accounting in delivering continuously sustainable, credible and competitive operations, by establishing effective framework for quality process performance measurement and review and is accountable in providing information and insights that enables the function to make informed decisions in driving business outcome and bottom-line impact to the organization.
Collaborate closely with the Payroll Accounting Leadership Team and other relevant stakeholders impacting PA to deliver strategic process ambitions. The role will also be working closely with the other Planning & Performance Teams in Shell to understand value creation with certain risk conditions.
Perform monthly KPI and lead process performance review for Payroll Accounting to senior management and operations team.
Lead and deliver management reporting for Payroll Accounting, including FTE Allocation and provide support to Process Excellence Manager on budget/LE
Understand value drivers, drive identification of performance gaps and opportunities proactively
Support Payroll Accounting Leadership Team in delivery of operational excellence by providing insights on key themes, trends and variances, information or commentaries, and, developing recommendations to drive improvement using data analytics.
Develop and manage fit for purpose E2E Process Metrics, leading indicators and productivity measures, as well as, benchmarking activities
Ensure timely release of performance dashboards
Support delivery of Payroll Accounting Strategic plans & initiatives – facilitate, monitor, report progress and outcome and keep updated with the industry best in class data themes and insights and incorporate in the reporting process
Leads process and data improvement interventions, partners with other departments (including outside Finance) to understand performance gaps, scope improvement interventions and deliver impactful business outcomes.
Influence peers and teams on the power of metrics-based disciplined operations, CI and Data Quality Assurance to drive OE across E2E processes.
What we need from you?
Bachelor’s or degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Business Administration with a professional experience in MI or data Mining/Analytics.
Ability to scrutinize information using data analysis tools, think strategically and support Shell in making important decisions by identifying various facts and trends. Furthermore, you will have:
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and SAP applications is a must.
Basic to intermediate skills in Access, Spotfire, Power BI and other visualization tools is preferred
Excellent communication skills and collaborative partnership – ability to influence and contribute across multiple stakeholders, internally and externally
Strong strategic and analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Resilient personality with focus and determination
Systems knowledge an advantage
