Benefits Analyst
Position Summary
Serves as subject matter expert and maintains knowledge of and administers various benefit programs, such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, retirement savings plan (RSP), workers compensation, Leave of Absence Policy, voluntary benefits, time off programs and flexible spending accounts. Assists team members and departments with the FMLA/LOA process, regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Advises, interprets and applies paid time off benefits for team members, department managers and other departments.
Implements benefit programs, including overall benefit communications.
Assists team members in all aspects of benefits administration.
Serves in various department and company-wide work groups and committees as needed or required.
Performs audits of various benefit plans and analysis of all system data reports to ensure accurate and correct eligibility.
Audits system data for integrity and to ensure various reports and calculations are accurate.
Audits benefit deductions and coverage levels for accuracy and consistent application as governed by the various plan documents, programs or policies.
Provides assistance to the Benefits Team, Third Party Administrators, consultants, auditors, site HR, and the HRCSC, Payroll with preparation of data requests and various required filings and forms for the RSP plan or Health and Welfare plans.
Run various system reports and generates data files to send to vendors, audits error reports, identify system opportunities as it relates to vendor systems, the HRIS and overall benefits administration.
Manages special projects as assigned to include analysis, research and program evaluation.
Partners with management to write and communicate Benefit policies, procedures, standards, laws and government regulations as they pertain to various benefit plans.
Responds to complex issues that arise due to claims processing or policy interpretation.
Acts a primary liaison for team members with all benefit providers related to concerns or issues related to claims, eligibility and communication and interpretation of plans and programs.
Work closely with individual or team members groups to communicate and foster understanding of and knowledgeable regarding benefit levels and options, claims and enrollments regulations and procedures through a variety of communication modalities to include electronic, verbal and written strategies.
Participate in testing annual plan design changes including overall HR training and ongoing team member communication.
Facilitates and provides various training throughout the organization on benefit plans and policies.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations that govern various benefit plans.
Maintains compliance with all **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. policies and procedures, as well as relevant benefits law, such as HIPPA, FMLA, ADAAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, Worker's Compensation, retirement regulations and other federal, state and local standards.

Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field including Health Care or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience on a 1:1 basis, offsetting experience must be in the field of Benefits.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
Two years experience in Benefits. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required, including intermediate to advanced Excel and Outlook skills.
