Shared Services Center is an innovation strategy to advance the priority of student success, reduce the administrative burden on individual colleges, consolidate transaction-based functions, create economies of scale and improve backroom process efficiency. This work allows the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. to better focus resources on the students – helping them start their educational journeys, persist, and succeed.
Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the position provides entry-level technical service and support in one or more functional areas of payroll and human resource management. This position will work cross-functionally within the department to support the payroll process thru identified policies and procedures and will remain informed on all payroll projects and updates as directed by the Payroll Manager or Supervisor and Department of Accounts.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Basic math, professional telephone etiquette, and standard business communications
• Computer systems, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office programs
• Basic understanding of payroll principles
Skills:
• Retrieving and manipulating data via online access in database files thru various software applications.
• Analytical and critical thinking.
• Strong verbal communication, writing, and proofreading/editing.
• Strong customer service.
• Computer expertise with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent mathematical aptitude and numerical skills.
Abilities:
• Ability to organize and manage workflow to ensure payroll tasks are processed accurately and timely.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information.
• Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple customers and priorities.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma, or equivalent education and work experience
• Previous experience handling multiple administrative tasks/assignments at one time
• Customer service experience
• Functional knowledge of HRIS systems
• Experience with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience handling and reporting large volumes of data with accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and work experience
• Experience with Peoplesoft/Oracle systems.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification or payroll related work experience.
• Knowledge of Process Improvement Techniques.
• Adobe Acrobat Pro skills.
• Shared services or call center experience.
