Benefits Analyst
Description/Job Summary
The primary role of the Benefit Analyst is to audit and enter benefit contributions that affect benefit changes in the HRIS system and other systems. Also must respond to all benefit related Associate issues and facilitate the distribution of benefit correspondence. Frequent research of benefit eligibility and coverage issues is required.
Essential Functions
Subject Matter Expert: The Benefits Analyst acts as a subject matter expert for topics such as benefit administration practices, COBRA, and processing procedures.
Processing Tasks: The Benefits Analyst is responsible for reviewing, updating and managing eligibility data, reconciliations for coverage, reviewing and responding to carrier file error reports, completes quality assurance testing.
Quality Management: The Benefits Analyst ensures services are being completed within the defined internal/external Service Level Agreement timelines.
Process Documentation: The Benefits Analyst should ensure that documentation exists for all ongoing processes.
Team Collaboration: The Benefits Analyst supports our benefits team, HR team as well as our associates. In this capacity, the Benefits Analyst coordinates closely with the Benefits Manager, Benefits Coordinator as well as our HR Operations team.
Continuous Improvements: The Benefits Analyst devises ways to continuously improve processing operations and identifies systems/process inefficiencies.
Additional Competencies
Experience with data entry
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced organization demonstrating initiative and independence
Knowledge of HIPAA, ERISA, and/or state benefit continuation guidelines preferred
Required Education
The minimum requirement for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
