The Staff Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners, stakeholders, and IT. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of business strategies, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates. This role is key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from documenting business and functional requirements to assisting on more complex projects related to operational business functions and strategic initiatives. Ideal candidate for the Staff Analyst role is a problem solver who will play a critical role in defining and enabling business change, make a real difference to business success and influence the way the company operates to amplify positive impact.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the IT partner to the business, aligning technology to business goals and delivering best-in-class technology solutions.
Cultivate strong business relationships by demonstrating an understanding of related processes, requirements, systems, and terminology
Partner with stakeholder teams across business units to document necessary business cases to frame opportunities, benefits, and risks to decide on a course of action
Stay current with stakeholder needs and strategies by developing a communication process utilizing formal and informal methods to communicate updates and findings and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (e.g. senior management, customers, technical staff)
Work with business and IT Leadership to develop IT strategies and technical roadmaps
Coordinate, influence, and gain alignment of cross-functional business & IT teams to develop scalable and strategic solutions that meet business needs
Assist in the project delivery of multi-business technology solutions and must have significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in the areas of analysis, design, software requirements, configuration, testing, and implementation.
Partner with software vendors on functionality roadmaps and critical issues to ensure vendor solutions are aligned with business roadmaps and initiatives
Maintain awareness of best practices including processes and technology and identify opportunities for improvement of existing functionality
Analyze and interpret information technology proposals and evaluate and develop alternative implementation plans
Lead cross functional meetings & organize/deliver information to audiences at all levels within the company, including executive stakeholders
Handle multiple engagements simultaneously without compromising accountability or reducing level of engagement
Provide work leadership and direction to junior analysts within the team; to mentor and elevate their level of capabilities
Develop strong working relationships with business partners, peer IT teams and vendors
Requirements:
Experience: 10 years of experience in Information Systems or related area with proven experience as a business analyst
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical area
In depth understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls
Experience developing and communicating a capability/application roadmap
Computer skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to tell the “story”. Experience communicating technical information to stakeholders, peers, senior management, and non-technical team members. Experience communicating functional requirements to highly technical team members.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across the team with a growth mindset towards action and learning
Ability to work independently and set priorities based on key milestones, impact to strategic initiatives and high-level direction of management
Extensive strategic problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and demonstrate sound decision quality
Advanced ability to build relationships and influence strategy
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced environment
Experience implementing large-scale SaaS solutions and long-term 3rd party vendor partnership a plus
