SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist assists in delivering HR functional support as an employee advocate, administrative expert and business driver. The HRG will have the opportunity to work within the full scope of generalist activity: Recruitment, employee relations, performance management, regulatory and legal compliance, policy administration and employee training and development in a collaborative team based environment. Scope detail includes: Policy Management: Including administering/interpreting company policies and representing the organization (and/or assisting the HR manager) in personnel and employment law compliance related investigations and hearings. Performance Management: including working with people managers to determine appropriate course of action with regard to performance, safety or attendance concerns. HR/Organization Consulting: including change management facilitation and organizational consulting with all levels of employees. Employee Programs: including administering the Annual Benefits Open Enrollment Process, employee opinion surveys and answering general HR questions. Talent Selection: Assist in managing open positions through the full recruitment life cycle for exempt, non-exempt and hourly level positions within the Storm Lake Turkey Facility. Employee Training and Development: conducting new employee orientation sessions and other HR related management development training sessions. Employee Relations: assisting HR Manager with developing and implementing effective Positive Employee Relations programs.
Position Specific Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization skills. Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Demonstrate the ability to be coachable and trainable for cross- training/development within the HR function in preparation for future progression.
REQUIREMENTS:Education: High school diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field preferred.Experience: 2-4 years human resource experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Tyson systems preferred. Experience with online recruitment systems preferred.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Lao preferred.Supervisory: N/A
