POSITION SUMMARY: Through collaboration with Talent & Culture Leadership, Center of Excellence Team Members, Prepared Foods Ops Leaders, and the Talent Optimization lead for Prepared Foods, the Senior Manager – Training & Development is responsible for planning and directing training and leadership development strategies and proactively addressing organizational development opportunities within the Prepared Foods Business Unit (37 locations, 16,000 TMs, Corporate and Operations).
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creation and execution of a training and development for Prepared Foods leaders, including curriculum and content development for all levels of operational leadership (1500 leaders). Delivering learning content and services to meet the strategic needs of Prepared Foods and team member development. Facilitating the integration of the training and development platforms and initiatives with other company/Prepared Foods initiatives. Facilitating training for corporate and operations leadership with a heavy focus on new leaders and frontline supervisors with expanded focus over time. Working through Growth Development Plans including coaching, accountability, and tracking. Managing and leveraging technology platforms and related data tracking used in best practice training and development efforts. Developing and managing a library of Training and Development resources. Conducting classroom seminars and team building sessions including pilot programs, train-the-trainer, management and non-supervisory seminars, custom application training programs, and other classroom programs.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE MANAGER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, HR, or Organizational Psychology preferred.
5 – 7 years’ experience in Training and Development with an emphasis on soft skills or leadership training preferred.
Previous experience in food production and/or manufacturing also preferred.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills – including verbal, written and listening skills; ability to present effectively to all levels of team members including senior leadership; demonstrated candor, specifically listening with an open mind, having courage to speak up and give feedback, and acknowledging mistakes/failures.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience building adult learning programs and training courses adhering to a wide variety of adult learning preferences and best practices.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and familiarity with web-based applications. Knowledge of and experience working with learning management systems and online meeting systems.
Knowledge of and experience working with eLearning tools and applications (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Storyline, Vyond, Adobe Illustrator). Ability to storyboard, write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
Strong project management skills, time management and planning skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Must have a mix of strategy and execution, coupled with collaboration and influencing without authority.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Travel will vary. At certain times, may require ability to travel 50 - 75% within a given month.
