Sr. Payroll Consultant
100% Remote
Daily Duties:
Partners with HR to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws as well as wage and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Manage benefit administration including communication with brokers, carriers and our payroll provider.
Research monthly payroll inquiries regarding monthly financials from Regional Directors and Community Managers
Administer the setup and ongoing management of state and local payroll tax accounts
Assist in the development of workflow, policies and procedures related to the payroll function to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the processing of payroll
Review and reconcile payroll reports to reflect accurate journal entries to the appropriate corporate or property financials
Support HR with benefits open enrollment and HRIS system update based on annual changes
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
