This position is responsible for supporting and driving the Tyson Foods training programs at the different Poultry facilities assigned. This position will support up to 20 Poultry locations depending on assignment. Support includes leadership development courses and technical skills training; plant orientation; hourly floor training; and special events training which may include (but not limited to) policies and best practice skill sets to manage people and enhance leadership, as well as our culture. This position will interact regularly with corporate Leadership Development Team Members, HR, training, and operations groups, as well as members of the complex/management team, the plant training team, and other management support and hourly Team Members.
This position will conduct needs analysis, interviews and focus group activities in assigned plants; review training needs with complex/plant management teams as assigned; identify gaps in training and work with the location leaders to close those gaps; work closely with plant Training Specialists to schedule and organize facility-based training, e.g. orientation, facilitation of leadership development to include Frontline Leadership Level 1 Courses, etc.; analyze, monitor, track, and drive progress and participation in assigned training and retention programs; provide support as needed on the implementation and initial deliverance of assigned training programs, e.g. On the Job Training, Management Onboarding, etc.; Will assess, design, implement and follow-up to measure success and effectiveness of all levels of training in the facilities; assist in the selection, onboarding, training and mentoring of all complex/plant training Team Members. Will create, develop, implement, and facilitate leadership development courses at corporate and in the Poultry plant locations, e.g. Frontline Leadership Level 2 Workshop, etc.
Other duties include: work with local complex Operations and HR management to define, develop and provide the training needed to develop and retain our Team Members; become a certified instructor, as requested, e.g. Intent Based Leadership, FranklinCovey, etc.; facilitate various training programs at corporate, at facilities, or as otherwise assigned; work with community colleges to assist with the outsourcing of training, and/or the securing of economic development or state funding grants for assigned plants and as needed or directed. Achieve a basic understanding of all skill sets for positions in the facilities; manage time effectively, including the proper prioritizing of assigned projects; work closely with Training Specialists in the planning, organizing and delivering of training in regional site implementation; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 5 years’ experience in training and development strongly preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; bilingual skills are a plus.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills.
Special Skills: Extensive Operations and Manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to work with all levels of Team Members and develop positive and strong business partner relationships. Well organized with the ability to multi-task. Previous training and poultry operations experience a plus.
