Job Summary
Responsible for administering disability/leave related programs, policies, and procedures. Possesses thorough knowledge of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), Short- & Long-Term Disability and ADAAA (Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act). Responsible for cultivating and maintaining a collaborative relationship with HR Business Partners, Compliance, Sedgwick, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the day-to-day activities of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Disability/Leave of Absence administration. Responsible for improving workflows and identifying process efficiency. This position will require being able to articulate sensitive leave information over the phone and through written communication, consistent with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Works with moderate guidance on own area of knowledge.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with federal, state and company regulations and policies related to employees' absences including but not limited to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and Pregnancy Disability Act (PDA).
Create an exceptional customer experience by responding timely and accurately to leave related requests. Provide guidance, review risks, resolve issues, and escalate as appropriate.
Work with Division team members, vendor partners, and business leaders to identify and develop successful return to work action-plans, minimizing lost time LOA cases and ensuring program effectiveness
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Manages all leave assignments, escalations, and queries in Case Management system.
Responsible for projects and ongoing initiatives that support disability/leave processes, systems, and process to address the business needs for our clients.
Performs audits of leave data and partners with UO HR Operations team as necessary to ensure Sedgwick reports provide necessary detail.
Stays up to date on benefits laws and regulations, such as FMLA and ADAAA, as well as our Short- & Long-Term Disability programs.
Serve as a liaison between vendors and the divisions as required to facilitate the success of the relationship. Provides periodic status reporting to management as required to communicate status of divisional relationship with Sedgwick.
Coordinate, track and manage leave accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADA).
Demonstrates objective critical thinking and eagerness to identify root cause of favorable and unfavorable trends and provides meaningful solutions.
Works with various systems such as case management database, vendor database and HRIS Peoplesoft/Workday.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Employees at all levels are expected to:
Bachelor's degree in related human resources discipline or equivalent education, HR certifications and work experience preferred
Exceptional customer service orientation
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high volume case management environment
Generally, requires 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Disability, Leave Administration and/or Human Resources.
Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently while making sound judgments and decisions with minimal guidance
Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills in various platform settings (e.g., biz ops connects, monthly readouts, facilitation of training)
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Shows effective consultation and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
In-depth knowledge of multi-state disability laws, FMLA requirements and related state and federal regulations.
Knowledge and proficiency of PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
Good organizational skills to manage time and resources in a self-directed way, while prioritizing and working on multiple projects simultaneously to meet quality standards, project timelines and desired outcomes.
