Job Description:
The position sits within the HR Transformation Programme team which is part of HR Experience Excellence Team which governs design of all HR Processes used by all Shell employees globally. The team is partnering with wider Shell HR Community in the area of HR Journeys and business process management. This position has global scope (all Shell countries). As member of the Payroll workstream, primary focus will be on implementing new payroll processes and a new payroll platform in the thirteen countries with Shell’s largest employee footprint.

The HR Transformation Programme team is responsible for planning and preparing for these important changes in HR – working closely with colleagues and Subject Matter Experts across the Function and ensuring that we draw in best practice from our peers in our continued journey towards World Class HR. The Programme team is working under the leadership of the HR Transformation Programme Manager, who is accountable to the HR Transformation DRB and HRE for on time and on budget delivery of planned changes while realizing expected business benefits
Process Analyst Payroll will have an important supporting role in the Payroll Vertical within the Digital HR: Pay & Benefits Programme which is focused on executing the Global Payroll Strategy (GPS). GPS execution will lead to changes in Shell’s payroll landscape.
This role provides a unique opportunity to participate in the initial design of the new Payroll Platform solution for Shell, giving the role holder exposure to this new tool which will become the core system for countries with Shell’s largest employee footprint, supporting Shell’s payroll processes and data.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Supports Process Architect/Experience Lead in the design and continuous improvement of Payroll processes & data structures.
• Manage the development of integrated, E2E journey processes with principle of Line Manager and Employee experience in mind, as well as opportunities for simplification and automation.
• Ensures execution, delivery feasibility & effectiveness of a process is considered when designing, and as a result – appropriate process flow charts, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) are in place.
• On behalf of Process Architect / Experience Lead defines the KPIs, process controls, global business rules and data definitions.
• Proactively identifies continuous improvement, data quality remediation, and automation opportunities, defining business benefits and performance metrics. Manage the process change cycle within own Process Area.
• Evaluates the need and supports the design of global standard policy and process and provides recommendation for Architectural review and approval.
• Works with business requestors to define/analyse business requirements for process and systems changes.
• Develops test scripts, participates and (on behalf of Experience Lead / Process Architect) signs of on Testing in case processes are changed in the solutions used.
• Acts as a functional lead in process and system related projects as counterpart from a HRIT project manager for initiatives that are not picked up by the DevOps team.
• Monitor interdependencies between the different process areas and assess the impact of a process change on other process areas. Take accountability to manage a change in an end-to-end process / journey.
• As member of the Payroll workstream, assists in the coordination of design workshops, working with natural team members to produce content and document Workshop outcomes.
• Update of HR processes including process flow charts and standard operating procedures
Requirements:
• Expertise in payroll processes (payroll transformation experience would be an advantage)
• Overall experience in project management, gathering business requirements, managing employee journeys.
• Strong experience in business relationship management, influencing customer and operations teams
• Familiarity with process automations, continuous improvement and design thinking methods
• Ability to work virtually within a global community with a positive and supportive mindset, independently and taking initiative to bring recommendations forward, displaying a sense of urgency in resolving issues.
• Ability to collect and analyse data to formulate conclusions and make proactive recommendations, evaluate and simplify end to end customer experiences.
• The definition, tracking and embedding of meaningful process performance metrics
• University degree
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in English
