Job Summary
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Office of Human Resources is recruiting for an I-9/E-Verify Compliance Specialist. The position will directly be involved with the Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance program by monitoring and ensuring compliance for all faculty, non-faculty, and student employees. As needed, the position will collaborate with and coordinate the involvement of subject-matter experts when employing foreign nationals. This position will report directly to Director, Human Resource Services.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Develops, maintains, and continuously improves program policies, procedures, and other resources as a guide to all campus partners for alignment and proper sequence of hiring foreign national employees.
-Works with departments in ensuring compliance of notification of
FAR
clause in contracts related to E-verify requirements.
-Provides advisement to others when needed to ensure that proper planning is initiated and executed in a timely manner with the subject matter experts and other stakeholders, including campus Human Resources partners, the Onboarding Center, Office of International Programs, Office of Tax Compliance, and Employment Services.
-Partners with hiring departments and Office of Tax Compliance to ensure successful completion of the proper tax compliance process based on current status prior to Form I-9 completion for all faculty, non-faculty, and student new hires and when reverification of work status is needed for continuing
employment.
-May perform reverification of work status utilizing electronic Form I-9 system and serves as a contact for reciprocal Form I-9 executions with other higher education institutions as needed.
-Collaborates with Student Employment in the audit, monitor, and advisement with hiring departments on required terminations with appropriate dates to ensure proper payment within work status.
-Analyzes metrics, in collaboration with Onboarding Center, for tracking and communication to campus partners of activities for purposes of education, training, and continuous improvement. Develops and provides training and/or coordinates training of users to the electronic Form I9 and E-Verify system for purposes of monitoring and reverification, as needed. Assesses program for continuous improvement through technology, communication, and collaboration. May revise program policies, procedures, and protocols resulting from continuous quality improvement efforts.
-May provide assistance to Campus Relations operations including, but not limited to, coordination of monthly HR Liaison meetings, HR Liaison onboarding, and various employee events.

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of the following:
Knowledge of
USCIS
.gov (Form I-9 Guidelines, E-Verify Program requirements, M-274 User manual),
SEVIS
(Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) records, and standard work statuses.
Knowledge of Dept. of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration processes, procedures, and regulations in relation to work authorization.
Skills include the following:
Relationship management, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. The ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders with various and potentially competing needs.
Minimum Technology Skills
Ability to work in technical software programs for producing reports, navigating systems and analyzing data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel.

Experience working in a higher education environment; ability to develop and successfully deliver training; build resources for end users; experience and/or the ability to successfully navigate and monitor data in human resources information systems and other system software.
