Role Summary/Purpose
In this critical role, the Executive Global Total Rewards Leader will lead the strategy and delivery of GE Aviation’s Total Rewards (TR) programs for GE Aviation. Provide leadership, expertise and strategic guidance in the areas of compensation, benefits, incentives (annual, sales, long-term), bonus harmonization and business integration. Collaborate with Corporate Total Rewards teams, Human Resources, business leaders and TR team members to provide innovative, yet pragmatic, solutions to our global employees.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert for the GE Aviation leadership team and HR staff, standardizing processes, establishing operating rigor and building close strategic partnerships within the business and across GE. Adopt lean practices within HR and embody our leadership behaviors
Review and reevaluate the Total Rewards strategy to support and align with the current business environment, strategies and goals of GE Aviation and create the roadmap for delivery
Lead and support compensation plan design and manage strategic compensation projects to meet evolving talent needs of the business
Identify and mitigate significant risks and opportunities throughout total rewards planning processes
Provide expertise regarding the strategic design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s compensation programs, partnering with business and HR leadership for optimal planning and execution
Proactively review executive compensation matters and market trends recommended changes to compensation structure and base pay adjustments, annual and long-term cash incentive plan design changes, bonus harmonization and business integration, equity award guidelines, and competitive executive benefit programs
Own and contemporize GE Aviation's job classification program, ensuring that all salary programs, merit budgets and salary structures have market pricing at their core and are aligned with GE Aviation's overall philosophy
Develop and drive a global benefits strategy to ensure programs attract and retain talent
Working with L&E team, ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations, maintaining an awareness of regulatory changes and the potential impact of those changes on current and future compensation requirements
Partner with GE Corporate Total Rewards to ensure adherence to GE enterprise-wide global compensation practices and governance standards for core processes
Provide overall leadership to the Aviation TR team, delivering coaching, mentoring and development opportunities, communicating proactively, and ensuring HR team engagement & retention
Act as a partner and advisor to the CHRO, leading cross-functional global teams as required to implement key initiatives
Build organizational Total Rewards competence and capability through business partnership, education, program execution and assessment of market trends and practices.
Lead TR activities in support of acquisition and divestiture activity, including due diligence, integration planning and implementation.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 15 years of relevant work experience)
Minimum 10 years prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement and leadership in HR with significant experience in Compensation and Benefits
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
In-depth understanding of Total Rewards concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience
Demonstrated experience in making strategic Total Rewards decisions and effectively interfacing with leadership teams and vendors
Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical solutions tailored to the audience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience
Player-coach approach with ability to be both strategic and execution oriented
Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels
Ability to work in changing environments, seeing through complexity
Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive and diverse workforce
