For SMR’s division Ground Support, we’re now looking for a HR Manager, North America
. The position owner will thrive in a diverse setting where leadership and collaboration skills are keys to our success, and competence, experience and drive has a genuine impact on our ways of working with HR within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions.
Your mission – Enabling HR success in our North American Region.
In this position, you’re accountable for all aspects of HR – including regional strategy, recruitment and retention, performance management, training and development, succession planning, compensation and benefits, HR analytics and information systems. To enhance our people experience, you initiate necessary improvements and enable speedy decisions based on business needs and foreseeable future plans in alignment with Global HR. You drive accountability and support the business operations to enable them to operate at peak performance levels.
Other responsibilities included in your work are leading and supporting Global HR initiatives and projects in your region, managing workforce plans and effectively controlling labor costs. You also ensure excellent stakeholder management.
Among your daily tasks:
Lead an HR team (Canada and US) of 4+ employees and work hands on with your team to ensure smoothly running HR processes, stability, motivation and efficiency while adhering to timelines and setting the right priorities.
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
Support ongoing and future local and global HR projects, ensuring DSI Underground’s people and operational interests are aligned all times.
Define and implement a compliant operating model for your HR department.
Assist in Ground Support’s digitalization efforts, according to its strategic goals and execution plans such as Workday implementation.
The location for this position is preferably Sudbury and you report to the Regional CEO. Occasional business travel is required.
Your character – A strategic HR professional with true team spirit
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Business Commerce, Administration, HR, or equivalent area. With deep experience of HR operations and management – including both employee and labor relations – you’re a professional in the field. You’re comfortable interacting in a global, matrix environment and as a confident business partner you effortlessly pave the way of successful HR practices that support the operations. You need excellent communication skills in English and ideally French, both written and spoken.
Your personality contributes to our achievements! You’re a people-person with an open mind and a great ability to create enthusiastic environments based on trust, collaboration and partnership. By understanding the area of Business HR and utilizing your strategic approach and great communication skills, you find ways to ensure everyone is on board.
