Summary:

The Director of Field Human Resources is responsible for the execution of HR’s strategic vision in partnership with field operations to drive measurable and successful business outcomes. This individual serves as a strategic business partner to Operations and coach to HR Business Partners, HR Generalists, Woodhaven’s HR Manager, and the Store Operations leadership team. The position will lead and direct HR field team activities, own and drive thorough and swift resolution of employee relations matters, and lead store culture initiatives with a continuous commitment to build and maintain effective partnerships with field leadership and drive team member retention.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develops strategy and implements vision for field team member relations and field team member engagement that creates a top workplace for team members.

· Ensures the execution of talent development tools to drive internal team member development and performance management across all field team members.

· Promotes the efficiency and effectiveness of the recruiting process in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team and engages in talent assessment for field facing management, as needed.

· Owns and continuously improves the reporting of turnover and exit metrics to effectively drive improvement in our most challenged stores and regions.

· Designs and develops initiatives that drive team member engagement and overall satisfaction. This will include but not be limited to team member relations efforts focused on systems management and enhancements, policy and practice updates, and culture driven retention efforts.

· Designs, with HR leadership, and evangelizes a compelling Employee Value Proposition to leverage in social media presence and external community efforts to attract and retain team members.

· Anticipates future talent needs and creates strategies that will utilize current team members to build bench strength and succession efforts to meet forecasted field staffing needs.

· Analyzes reports of progress against designated HR metrics and makes recommendations on opportunities anchored in business insights to increase the retention of key talent.

· Remains current on trends in the industry and HR field and establishes shareworthy benchmarking relationships to ideate for Aaron’s; implements new ideas to ensure the team is effectively attracting, developing, and engaging top talent.

· Maintains a strong and up-to-date knowledge base on employment law related matters and raises nuanced matters to in-house counsel to resolve or redefine policy.

· Consultants as a respected internal influencer to deliver constructive feedback, diagnose and resolve problems, and positively drive culture change and enhancements.

· Responsible for all human resources responsibilities of direct and indirect reports, including but not limited to hiring, coaching, training, and appraising talent; accountable for the strength, knowledge, and skills of the field facing HR team to ensure professionalism and consistency.

· Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

· 7 – 10 years of progressive Field Human Resources leadership experience to include Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development or other HR disciplines

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience

PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred

Required Skills:

· Strong knowledge of all relevant employment laws and regulations, including Wage and Hour, FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, and other DOL regulations

· Excellent understanding of a retail environment and its unique challenges

· Able to remain neutral and facts-driven in the face of high stakes adversity and needed feedback and counseling situations

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, connecting all HR actions to business outcomes

· Ability to manage multiple confidential situations without compromise

· Strategic and visionary thinker that can see the possible and create action plans to move from strategy to implementation

· Excellent interpersonal and group communication skills, connecting with team members from all backgrounds and education levels

· Excellent collaboration and consensus building skills with a focus on adding value to the business

· Strong relationship building and networking skills both within and outside the organization

· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks for timely completion while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing business demands

· Motivator and developer of employees in a high-stress environment

· Travel required approximately 50% of the time
