The Benefits Manager is a member of the Aon Total Rewards team within the People Organization and is a superb opportunity! The person in this role reports to the Senior Benefits Manager for Aon’s retirement plans. This role is virtual or can be hybrid if nearby an Aon office location. What will I do in this position?Job ResponsibilitiesVendor management: point of contact for record keeper and other vendors Apply benefits plan information and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Research historical plan records and data to assist with participant inquiries, claims, appeals, audits, legal requests, and miscellaneous projects. Use various software and websites to pull and review participant data. Research complex participant benefit issues and formulates resolutions/recommendations by analyzing fact patterns and applying plan provisions. Provide resolution in accordance with due dates and documents processes.Provide merger, acquisition, and divestiture support for retirement plan integrations or separations. Lead and support the execution of new and ongoing projectsAssess the benefits email boxes and assist with replies. Send mass emails, develop, and document benefit related processes and guidelines.Support annual plan audit and 5500 filingsConducts SOX testing and user acceptance testing of participant-facing applications and benefits calculations/processes Manage and mentor the apprentice supporting retirement plansThe expertise and knowledge we are seeking:5 or more years of validated experience running a large market 401 (k) planExperience handling or leading plan sponsorship responsibilitiesStrong plan compliance knowledgeHands-on experience of record keeper vendor managementAccomplished experience with 5500 filings and annual plan auditsOther impressive skills and experience include: Demonstrable knowledge of benefits related laws and regulations, understanding of financials, budgets/accruals of benefit plansSkilled at accurately researching, identifying, and documenting participant issues, excellent research, computation, and analytical skills with attention to detailDemonstrable experience with data mining and interpreting results, proficient in Microsoft applications like Excel and other MS Office products. CEBS and or ASPPA Certification is a plus We offer youA competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
