Absolutely!nWhat youu2019ll learn & achieve:nThe Senior Payroll Manager leads the team responsible for the end to end payroll process for the Americas region. Ensuring compliance with local and international payroll, tax and accounting requirements. Delivering operational excellence and ensuring compliance via robust process and effective controls. Leading and motivating the team, supporting the Payroll Director and regularly engaging with key stakeholders and the business. Driving a common sense of ownership, first class service delivery and a commitment to continuous process improvement. nn Ensures all payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Supports and guides the team throughout the process as required and provides an escalation point if needed. Defines the annual payroll schedule and ensures that its adhered to n Monitors changes to payroll related legislation and oversees modifications to the payroll system to accommodate Communicates changes to the teamn Keeps abreast of payroll related developments, trends and technical advancements to maintain best in class operational service delivery.n Ensures all payroll systems including interfaces, integrations, data sources and other related software are maintained and synchronized as needed. Coordinate with Global Finance and other stakeholders as neededn Liaise with the Internal Audit & Compliance teams to ensure payroll SOX narratives are current and complete. Ensure the team are aware of and apply key and non-key sox controls as appropriate. Support internal/external audits including pre-audit planning, walkthrough sessions and the resolution of any outstanding audit points. Ensure any change to process or system is aligned with SOX narratives. n Ensure monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting & payment obligations are met, according to local country legislation. n Liaison with HR and other stakeholders re timely, complete and accurate submission of data n Manage and maintain relationships with outsourced payroll service providers to ensure consistently high levels of service delivery n Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including HR & Finance and the business generally. n Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance processes and develop a team which can be part of and support a global payroll functionn Ensure controls are performed and supporting documentation retained for SOX compliance and financial/statutory audits. n Provide operational metrics and supporting narrative for the global leadership teamn Work with and support global payroll peers on shared objectives and ad-hoc operational requirementsn Create an environment where challenge, review and a culture of continuous improvement is encouraged. Supports Supervisor in agreeing priorities and defining, documenting & implementing improvementsn Creates and maintains written procedures for all Payroll Department functions.n Work with key stakeholders and the business to define and agree their reporting and management information requirements. Agree content, format and frequency. Ensure the reports are delivered accordingly.n Develop and support the team by defining responsibilities establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.n Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct. Follow all physical and digital security practices.n Performs other duties as required.nnWhat makes you a great fit:nn University degree or recognised payroll qualification plus six years of directly related experience managing multi country payroll operations.n Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain a Payroll software system. n Working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Sound knowledge of governmental regulations (domestic & international). n Experience of ADP & Ceridian Payroll & Oracle HRIS software systems preferred. n Basic knowledge of benefits practices and procedures.n UL has COVID-19 protocols and policies in place to ensure the safety of our employees, customers and clients.
