Summary
The Learning & Development Design Specialist is responsible for supporting the development of select firm learning programs, initiatives and materials in collaboration with key stakeholders, the Learning & Development Design Lead, and other colleagues. The Specialist will design, create and implement engaging and effective learning solutions. They will update and maintain learning solutions, as applicable, based on evolving needs.
The Specialist is a member of the Organizational Development team within the firm's global Learning & Development (L&D) team and reports to the Learning & Development Design Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learning Design
Design, and develop appropriate learning solutions in consultation with the Learning & Development Design Lead by interviewing stakeholders and subject-matter experts, understanding business needs, and identifying ability/knowledge/skill gaps to be addressed.
Create synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions including SCORM-compliant eLearning programs, facilitator-led sessions, knowledge checks, simulations, and assessments.
Leverage best practices in adult learning and instructional design, such as ADDIE, to create learning design elements, such as objectives, storyboards, and scripts, as applicable.
Collaborate with the LMS Analyst and Learning & Development Assistant to ensure seamless program delivery via the firm's learning management system.
Build and maintain expertise with relevant authoring, programming, and graphic-design principles and tools.
Additional Responsibilities
Regularly review learning programs, initiatives, and materials to identify, recommend, and implement improvements or enhancements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest innovations, trends, and best-practices in the learning and instructional design field.
Perform other duties, as required (such as L&D systems support.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in eLearning design and development, including proficiency with Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and other eLearning authoring tools
Proficiency in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, adult learning principles, and measurement strategies
Experience with multimedia learning elements, including the ability to create and edit scripts, record and edit audio and video files, and create and edit graphics
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with multiple stakeholders reviewing and editing work product
Knowledge of how eLearning solutions integrate with a LMS
Experience with WebEx, Zoom, Adobe Connect, and other virtual meeting and learning platforms
Advanced knowledge of Windows-based systems, particularly the Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office 2016 suite
Preferred:
Associate's/Bachelor's degree
Experience in a law office, legal environment or a professional services environment
Familiarity with document management systems and other legal applications
